I don't see any reason to doubt Phinney and Gaimon's claims, they have no reason to claim these incidents happened if they didn't.

San Luis has the potential to be a great race, but the organizers need to get their sh!t together. Make sure this kind of stuff isn't happening and that there are punishments when it does happen. And while their at it, work on getting better coverage for the race as well, that's one way to make sure things like hanging on to cars doesn't happen (riders will be less tempted if they know their on camera).

The biggest problem is lack of coverage. There has been no improvement over the last few years. How can you ask sponsors of Pro teams to back a race if they get no exposure? Just for training? In that case some of these managers better get a wake up call soon.

Anyway the last stage here looks raceable if a team steps up:

Perfect for Sagan, but perhaps hes into wine and beef at this point. Instead Boonen FTW.

Are you talking about claims of Cavendish hanging onto cars in the past or Phinney's and Gaimon's claims? Anyone that hangs onto a car should face the punishment for it, same for Cav and the local riders at San Luis. I never defended one rider for doing it while criticizing another for it.

And maybe Phinney and Gaimon didn't name the riders because they didn't know their names. The local riders at San Luis aren't the most well known riders.

Aren't you tired of rolling out this same old rubbish for years every time a mention of someone holding onto cars is made. It's well known that there has never been any photographic or other evidence of Cavendish doing this and it is well documented that he always has an official or camera bike near him on climbs even when in the middle of the peloton as they love to show him suffering.

For this very reason Cavendish never goes back to the team car for drinks or anything else on a climb. Cavendish is an outstanding descender where he recoups time and gets back onto the peloton after a climb. Farrar is the only one to make a veiled accusation and that was out of sheer jealousy after loosing yet another sprint to him the day after a climb.

Pretty sure some 4th rate sprinter cracked this one open at the Giro once, then turned up in a photo a couple of days later doing exactly what no one has ever given any evidence for with Cavendish.

I apologise you are correct there were photos of some riders on Etna where mud was slung at Cavendish but he had the testomony and backing of an official and broom wagon driver who were behind him all the way up.

Ryo Hazuki displays a kind of Stockholm Syndrome with regard to his beloved South Americans.

6. Giacomo Nizzolo (Trek)
7. Manuel Belletti (Androni-Giocattoli)

5. Enzo Moyano (San Luis Somos Todos) a 3:04

Not surprised with the reported incidents, and sorry for generalising, but this happens because of the infamous South American patriotism and nationalism (also spotted in Portugal, but not as much).

This is just insane and patethic, and makes me crawl up the walls knowing nothing is done.

I've seen cadets races better organised than the TdSL.

Just watched the finish, that was a great sprint.
