Amazing old style coup d'etat. Unfortunately i don't think he can withstand the fury of the fisherman.

Without Mas and Carapaz he should be an odds on favorite to podium. Especially because Buchmann seems to have recovered his mojo.I did give him a bit of criticism for not being the most exciting rider in the world before, but even then it must be mentioned that though he won an awful Giro (though not as bad as this year's), in the two stages where it really kicked off, it was largely him and his team at the helm and taking responsibility for it. I honestly cannot believe or understand how much he is being underestimated. I think he's one of the favourites if not the outright favourite to round out the podium assuming the big two make it to Paris, and even if he crashes out tomorrow his Tour is already a success.
Mainstream cycling media. People who actually watch races aren't as surprised. CN did have Hindley third favourite heading in though TBF.I don’t understand. Lots of “He should be a favorite for a podium position; “He’s being underrated, clearly a podium contender,” etc. Actually, basically the entire forum picked him in the poll to be “best of the rest.” Of course he’s the favorite for third place. Who are these doubters you guys are referencing?
Even with Mas and Carapaz he’d be in with a big shot to podium. Good point about Buchmann too - gives Bora strength to counter Jumbo.Without Mas and Carapaz he should be an odds on favorite to podium. Especially because Buchmann seems to have recovered his mojo.
Exactly, he’s the 5th best GT rider in the world and two of them aren’t here. Naturally he would be favourite for the podium.I don’t understand. Not just Buchmann - Konrad, Jungels and even Pollitt are decent supportEven with Mas and Carapaz he’d be in with a big shot to podium. Good point about Buchmann too - gives Bora strength to counter Jumbo.
Definitely a sharper climber than EvansHindley clearly proving now to be a much better three week rider than Porte, and perhaps he will soon out achieve Evans (though he is helped by lack of time trialling in today's GT's).
It will tough to beat Evans level in week 3 of the 2011 TdF. Even disregarding the penultimate TT Evans was super strong for the final 5 stages before Paris. Porte wasn’t too shabby either when he podiumed in 2020.Hindley clearly proving now to be a much better three week rider than Porte, and perhaps he will soon out achieve Evans (though he is helped by lack of time trialling in today's GT's).
He didn't have to put in too much effort, except for the final climb of course. He didn't really work in the break. I think he should be alright. Whether that keeps him in contention for the win, he'd have to follow Vingegaard which I think will be a bit difficult.Masterpiece by Bora and Hindley!
Jai is such a classy rider, I hope he can stay in contention for the overall win until the end (although I fear he could pay for the effort already today).
Agree! Evans was a good stage race TT’r and could perform in one day races, Hindley certainly has more of a kick on the climbs.Definitely a sharper climber than Evans
