60 Minutes that had a "where are they now" segment just a short time ago about Muarmmar Gaddafi. How he said he was sorry for downing planes, excepted Israel's right to exist. The people at 60 Minutes made him seem like a quirky, semi humble weirdo staying in touch w his nomad roots by staying in a tent from time to time. What will they do with Lance? Hours of feel good BS about his life and accomplishments.

Train wrecks attract eyeballs. If Wonderboy's story is compelling enough after the entire law enforcement process, they'll do it. The part to worry about is the lengths the Wonderboy faithful will go to rewrite history in such a way as to soften their beloved's crimes. Media will get on that bandwagon too. Why? Because they will attract viewers tearing it down later.

Wow, the tools came out of the shed today.

Anyway, don't know if this has been discussed, but it sounded to me like, when Tyler was talking about the hotel blood transfusions, the stopped by a hotel that WASN'T the hotel they were staying in to get the transfusions. Simple and brilliant if true. You get someone to get a room somewhere off the beaten path where you do your dirty business, and then when they check the hotel you are staying in, no problem for you because there is nothing there.

Exactly. See my post in the Shack team hotel raid at the Giro thread.

I'd like to get a better picture of the logistics on that one. The two phones scheme was new. Based on some of the wiretap information from Italy, some of these lying cheats are likely dumb enough to have them under subscription service.

IMHO, the biggest bomb that was dropped was the Lab exec meeting about the testing with Wonderboy. Any emails at the UCI regarding this and similar meetings? How many other labs had meetings with riders? What's the IOC have to say about the failed state of PED testing? A close second was more detail on the TdS positive.

Are you saying that once you "come clean" you stop lying?
That is a bit naive sniper, don't you think?

IBelieveTylerNow.com

But no, coming clean does not mean you no longer lie lol.
Sucker born every minute.
"Lance put a drop under my tongue"
"Lance squirted it. Lance squirted a drop of awesomeness"

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, whatever.
ONCE bitten, twice venga venga.
Drama Queen is as Drama Queen does.

Hi Polish,

Tell me then. Tyler is lying to the Grand Jury? Armstrong never doped? Just answer these 2 questions. Thank you in advance

The conclusion I draw is that you're struggling to defend your hero. I guess only you know what relevance the Trek and Lemond brands have to do with the 60 minutes episode last night.

...in point of fact, neither LeMond nor Armstrong are my heroes...from my perspective they are merely two sides of a very thin dime..

...and my post, if you had bothered to check, was a response to another post in this thread...and which incidentally I thought presented something that was not described as properly as maybe it should have been...as it was presented, it fit the bash Armstrong meme nicely, but it was only half the story...

...but its OK, I do understand your position, as in, why let some silly facts stand in the way of a good lynching...and by the way I'm not a big fan of lynchings...and especially when someone is cooking the story...

Cheers

I have no idea what you're babbling about. Lemond and Armstrong two sides of the same coin? WTF? Where are your facts?

If McQuaid and Verbruggen have demonstrated anything, it is that the Emperor does not realize he has no clothes...Landis is going to get really, really rich on the counter-suit.
In a peculiar twist of justice, he would then have plenty of money to pay back everyone who donated to the FFF, which is what he said he would do.

Thanks Granville for all those links a few pages back. Reading Armen Keteyian's pre-broadcast perspective immediately made clear to me why Betsy doesn't want to talk to any more reporters. If you are supposed to be a lead investigative reporter, and don't do your homework, you need to pay better attention. 60 Minutes did a fine job. Keteyian's editorializing analysis is completely off the mark, and did not.

Who at the head of the pro peloton is clean? There is a rider leading the Giro GC who failed a drug control during the last edition of the Tour. Does anyone else sense the magnitude of hypocrisy in cycling?

Tyler: "I called Lance on his secret bat phone. Management wanted me to get my hemotacrit levels up and said to take care of it. I asked him for EPO. Then, a few days later, it showed up in a FedEx, or maybe DHL package."

Me: "Which was it, FedEx or DHL?"

Tyler: "I don't recall exactly which. All I know is that I called Lance on his secret bat phone and asked for EPO, and it showed up."

Me: "Well, it is interesting how you say these things were so prominent and meaningful in your cycling career at the time, a cross-roads if you will, a major decision whether you should dope or not, and you remember all of these other specific details, but can't remember if it was FedEx or DHL???"

Tyler: "I'm not sure."

Me: "What about Lance Armstrong's supposed positive test at the Tour of Switzerland. How did you know about that?"

Tyler: "Lance told me."

Me: "How did you know it would go away, how did you hear about that?"

Tyer: "Somebody told me. A freind, of a neighbor's uncle's cousin I think."

Me: "Interesting...very credible information Tyler."

Me: "You can pickup Tyler's book, soon to be on newstands in the next 6 months."

What a joke that guy is. I didn't find really much of anything the guy said as being credible. All he said/she said..and oh, I saw Lance take EPO, like we all did.

So, we have two know liars, Floyd and Tyler, who got busted stone cold doping. Then lied, deceived, denied etc...for a long time. Now all of the sudden when the government threatens and scares them, they "come clean"...oh by the way, we struck a plea deal with the US government Attorneys to say stuff about Lance and that he doped.

Hamilton said on 60 Minutes that his deal with the Feds was for partial immunity for his testimony, and if it is found later on that he perjured himself, the deal would be voided.

Seems to me like it should be fairly easy to corroborate his testimony with phone records, flight records, delivery records, etc.

Memory is an interesting thing and each individual remembers certain events differently. Just sit with a friend and try to recount a shared event and you will see not only how differently each of you remembers the event, but also how each remembers things that the other does not.

Wonder if FedEx/DHL can be called in to show who sent the packages as proof? Humm... I know minor but still. I do recall OP deliveries were tracked to certain people if not the riders, people in direct contact with them who were brought in on that case.

Do you see the pattern here? Floyd says Lance cheated. He is called a liar, a traitor, and not credible. Tyler says Lance took EPO. He is now a liar and not credible. CBS puts out a story which says Lance took EPO. They are called not credible and not upholding journalistic integrity.

Apparently, anyone who says Lance cheated or took PEDs is a liar, traitor, and not credible. That's the only conclusion for some people. It's absolutely impossible that two, three, ... five, one hundred, or one thousand people could all have known Lance cheated. Apparently, it's just impossible.

I guess that also means Frankie Andreu, Betsy Andreu, Greg Anderson, and George Hincapie are also liars who are not credible. They must all have a book coming out soon.

Just out of curiosity, which part was Tyler lying about, exactly? All of it? His own doping? Or only the parts about Lance doping? Cause it's pretty amazing to me that people can claim to not only be able to tell when a guy's lying just by watching him on TV, but also the exact parts that he's lying about. Quite a talent you have there.

And "all he said/she said"? Well no, it's more like "all Hamilton/Landis/F Andreu/B Andreu/O'Reilly/Swart/Lemond/Startt said/she said".

Don't you find it just a bit odd that all of these folks are basically saying the same thing about Armstrong? Are they all lying?

Don't try to argue with a LanceFanboy. You can't reason with them. They will only believe it when Lance shows up to their house and tells them in person.

The saddest part of the "everybody did it/lied about it defense" is that you wouldn't accept it if an eight year-old tried to pull it, but you're willing to put it out there for The Greatest American Hero of Cycling and Cancer and Everything Important in Like the History of Ever.

At what point will you demand responsibility?

I see your point. I also saw people dancing in the streets after Bin Laden was killed. 1 guy looked into the camera and almost crying said"we got our freedom back".
Lance is a doper.
OK
Lets start racing.Greg is right about everything,so was Betsy.OK
People are talking about their kids getting a mixed message from Pharmstrong. The lesson is that are people are flawed. Arnie, John Edwards,JFK,Elvis.
Confirming that Lance is an A-hole will do nothing to help cycling. It's a vendetta about a ego maniac straight faced lying to the feds . He should fire Mark Fabiani, drive to Novitzky's office and ask for a deal.

Everybody can learn from Barry Bonds, he got off and he is guilty a million times over. If Lance goes through the process he will be ruined even if at the end they say he is innocent.

To me, the most important thing is for the general public to know that he was a doper. I will be shocked if the Justice Department can get any kind of charges to stick.
