I'm sorry to disagree, but I still think he'll fail.
Last year he was good in Catalunya. 6 days.

Bernal has been failing these years when the race crosses the week. Luckily for him, the Giro route is a rest until the third week. So maybe it's like he races a two-week GT and doesn't notice  .

I hope I'm wrong; with a hard route, I´ve no doubt he'd collapse in the third week, like he has in recent GTs.

It was amazing to see Egan looking so good yesterday. I feel like he made a slight mistake closing down Ciccone, but at the same time it was nice to see he felt strong enough to do it. Here's hoping he has a brilliant gravel stage tomorrow!

Roughly this: he felt really good, thought he could maybe win the stage but the others were better and he will have to keep trying. He thought he was able to fight for the win but he was lacking a little.
However, I didn't find him very easy to understand so I have missed a few bits. I normally find Colombian Spanish quite nice so I don't know if it's because he's giving one of those tired, post-race interviews and wasn't enunciating very well.

It's funny how this feels like a last hurrah kind of race for a rider who's been away from the front for a while, when in reality the guy is just 28. He might not be at the midpoint of his career yet.
In his case, I wouldn't look so much at age.
The accidents have changed his ability to e three weeks effort.

This year, Lennard Kamna is a huge distance from what he was. Kamna probably won't be the same again.
Bernal probably won't be competitive again in three weeks. We'll see in this Giro if that's the case or not, and at least he can fight for the podium.

I think fighting for the podium is still somewhat optimistic
