Let's let thehog answer that. Unfortunately, its is fairly easy these days to circumvent some forum analysis tools by using proxy servers to use different IP addresses for different accounts. A different type of forum that I moderate for tried to ban posts originating from proxy servers, but that's like Whack-A-Mole; new proxys are up every day.

Regarding a previous response that thehog likes to congratulate itself, yes I have seen that, but typically that kind of post pops up many days after one of its "predictions" comes true, and he crows about his prescience. If you look at the post that I called him/it on, it has all the hallmarks of someone getting really sloppy with logouts/logins.

No, you've made the accusation, let's let you answer it. Time to put up or shut up.

Hey, thehog can, at times, be good for a chuckle. My concern is posting under multiple ID's especially when one ID pats the other on the back. That would be a serious breach of just about any forum rules, and a serious breach of trust. Trust and credibility form a major part of any online community.

I have been told that due to lack of funds on the part of cyclingnews and the rapid burnout rate of volunteer moderators that this forum is "community moderated". I would hope that "community moderation" would not involve putting blinders on when egregious conduct may be occurring.

I also find it interesting that a particular forum member has not returned to a thread where he has accounted for 21.2% of all posts in the thread. That percentage is obviously a minimum if there are indeed multiple accounts involved.

I smell a rat.

19 post newbie junior forum user states: " thehog can, at times, be good for a chuckle. My concern is posting under multiple ID's especially when one ID pats the other on the back. - So 19 posts in and you've already deduced I use multiple logins and I'm good for a chuckle. Surely you've been here longer to make such a conclusion? or you're just making this judgment of the back of handful of posts? Maybe, could it be, that you yourself have multiple logins and have been around here a lot longer than Cal_Jones?

This is very worrisome. Always be very careful when pointing fingers because there always 2 pointing back.Well in your case 236.

I suggest you spend more time posting here, enjoying the range of views expressed on the board and involve yourself in the discussions at hand. Joining a board 10 posts in and then slinging mud and throwing about IT terms lie proxy servers and IP addressees just makes you look silly. Even more so not one of your posts has actually been about cycling. If thats not all the hallmarks of a multiple login poster I don't know what is. Perhaps yourself got sloppy? You seem to know a lot about how to take on faux identities on forums.

To the question at hand; Similar to Lance Armstrong I welcome the CyclingNews Moderators to hack my account (with their lack funds), perform an audit on all my timestamps and do what is ever necessary to clear my name of these disgusting accusations. Extraordinary accusations require extraordinary proof.

So you have it. I'm clean and welcome the mods or whomever to check what they have to check to prove as such.

As for yourself I would suggest you reply to the posts at hand instead of attempting Lance Armstrong low-blows on my credibility. Or do you have some form of deficiency that does't allow you to debate the cycling related questions at posed on this forum?

Please don't respond to this post because you'll just look more silly than you already do and the whiff of common decency I have left I wouldn't want that for you.

Looking forward to your future cycling related posts.

...and don't forget to pick up your cheque from Demand :p

I think Cal just got schooled by the Hog.

Ok, not to dwell on this Hog and Cal_Joe business. I found something interesting today. On another forum i visit a friend provided a link to a website which gives an indepth analysis of LA's TT position and how it has developed over the years (you should see the saddle he uses, if you can even call it a saddle) BUT the thing i noticed most was that in most pics he looked like the porker we have been taking the shit out of for the past two months. Especially pics of last year.

The site is:

have a look, some very interesting TT pics.

Who cares about multiple accounts?

If anyone's self esteem is low enough that they feel the need to create a second account to pat the first on the back... who cares?

I just assumed theHog wanted to cogratulate himself since nobody else thought he was as clever as he did.

yep I am one who didn't notice much of a big appearance weight-wise from the past this year and this supports it. Though it seems everyone else would rather debate the Hog's account status than the thread's intentions right now.

So when Vinokourov launches his kamikaze attack during the tour:DWill we see Lance chasing him down?Or will he be too old,fat or slow to follow.

He'll be too slow to follow Contador. Some of Vino's victory comments sounded like he was preparing his younger teammate for more support role duty. I don't think Contador will sit long this time around.

?? I thought his comments (the ones I saw) were pointedly saying he'd be there for Contador in the TdF. Maybe that's what you're saying? Can you clarify and point to the comments to which you're referring? Thanks.

I'm one of the people that made a comment about his weight and not because I thought he looked fat. According to the Radio Shack website, his listed weight is 71 kg, 4 kg lighter than his listed weight at the 2009 TdF.

He doesn't look like he's lost almost 9 pounds from his Tour weight to me. I don't know the reason for spinning that tale, I always found it strange.

Bruyneel, Lance and team will make all the right decisions.

It is only a question of power.

Nothing can stop the RS onslaught!!! It's Ali v Frazier.

Oh, wait, it's Ollie v Frazier....never mind....

Oh, on the other other hand, given the weight problems maybe it's Alli v Frazier.

Alli_120_capsule_refill.jpg

Gotta watch that Alli, sometimes it will give you some serious gastro-intestinal problems. Any reports of that type of thing from the 'shack?

Wonder why they didn't take the time to check their work. The photos are flopped.

Remember the myth that Lance was the first and only Tour rider to recon the mountains of the Tour. Came across this whilst flicking through an old copy of Cycle Sport in the cycling shorts section.

1994
Claudio Chiappucci spent 3 days at the end of April looking over the Alpine climbs in this years Giro. He first checked out Les Deux Alpes, where the Giro makes a rare excursion and then continued on to Sestriere, site of his famous victory at the 92 Tour.

Wow, a rider checking out the climbs of a major stage race before the actual race. Surely this never happened before Lance came along 5 years later.

I didn't know there was ever a myth that Lance was the only one to do that. I just assumed everyone had (at least in the last 30-40 years or so).

I certainly recall that myth. Along with the high cadence in the mountains, weighing his food, training harder, better equipment, etc., all being the reason that he was better than anyone else and dope free. Maybe they didn't call it a myth, but it was all part of the mythology (in the non-perjorative sense of the word) of Lance Armstrong.

Maybe it wasnt a myth but it was always used as an example that set Lance apart from his competitors to explain his superiority.

I remember all the other stuff you mentioned. And I remember hearing he did ride the routes ahead of time. I just never heard that he was the only one... I assumed Ulrich and all the others who were in GC contention did as well.

Never directly, but that certainly is the implication when you are ticking off the things that separate Armstrong from his other competitors.

All of which brings us back around to the question of why he's training in Aspen and Austin? And when is he going to Europe to recon the new climbs that will be in this year's TdF?

On a side note, I think it's hilarious that Mellow Johnny's is bringing this to the start line of the Tour of the Gila: http://tweetphoto.com/20032449
Anything to keep those drug testers happy for 45 minutes, just like last year's Tour, right???
