Interesting comment by Wiggo today. He said by doing the Giro it gives him 20+ days of solid training with no distractions. ie no family, no home life to get in the way. Smart guy. He's going to **** on Lance's fat gut. Go wiggo!

Calling your own kids and their Mother a "distraction"?
Harsh, Bradley, Harsh:(

Lance loves his kids. He brings them to the races and training sessions whenever he can. Lance creates twitter accounts for them.

Bradley tweets only for himself?

Anyway, Lance will be spending Mother's Day with his kids and their Mothers.
If he loses the TdF to Wiggins because of this - so be it.

Lance has his priorities in the Right Place

Yes, I have heard he is very good to his kids, and all their moms too.

I will take a little piece of this juicy bait by saying on Mothers Day .... Lance should be with his Mother, not his kids ;)

Much as I admire Wiggo, I think you are indulging in some wishful thinking Hogman. I'm predicting Wiggo won't back up from last year while LA will be stronger. His position will probably not change or may get worse but he will still beat Wiggo.

Completely agree here, what in God's name actually makes you think Wiggo will do anything significant this year?

I'm with you. Based on Gila form Armstrong's got the entire field beat. Wiggo stands no chance against a guy who can't beat weekend club riders.

Why waste my time?

He could get some training in by trying to spend time with his mom and all of the mothers' of his children, that ought to get him into race form.

Lol Hogman, not a lot of difference with LA from last year to this year, he did the Gila last year without showing much and still managed third in the tdf. I realise you dislike the guy but lets try and at least get a little objectivity into the discussion. Third place means he beat all but two of many of the best riders in the world and now he's suddenly an old fat man....somehow I don't think so.

And no, I'm not a fanboy, I just fail to see how you can make such comments when historically (in terms of Armstrong performances) you have no precedent from which to justify them....hence my wishful thinking comment which I stand by.

So he is getting all the mothers together in one place? One small side note, its not mothers day in britain, we have ours in march.

Last year at the Gila he finished 2nd. This year he finished . . . 18th. Last year he suffered a broken collarbone, and the Gila was his first race before the Giro. This year . . . well he had a tummy ache a couple of times. And he's only riding the Tour of California, whereas last year he rode the Giro d'Italia. Last year he raced over 6500 km before the Tour. This year, he'll race around 5300 km. Last year he had the best stage racer in the world on his team and, save one stage, did not have to compete with him directly. He will compete against the best stage racer EVERY DAY at the Tour this year.

Last year is last year. If the Tour de France was being raced on the same course/route as last year, then I think one could make a strong argument for Lance finishing on podium. It's not the same course. He's not demonstrating on the road or anywhere else (AFIK) that he is training seriously for the task at hand. And unlike year's past, he's not the strongest rider coming into the field and he does not have a mental stranglehold on his self-proclaimed nemesis.

The past can only tell you so much. Sometimes you have to accept that reality is reality, and that time waits for no man.

I respect that you live in the bay area publicus, it shows a certain savy I ausume. But assume this homeboy, Lance, compaitriot of Eddy, Indurain, Bruyneel, Ullrich,Kloeden et al. You been around, do not fool yourself Publicus. I know a lot of these posters are ex-fan boys of Lance who were dissappointed by some action reported about Lance or whatever, However these friends of mine are dissappointed.

I grew up in the bay area and I see you as savy and a compaitriot. Go over to Chechus place in Oakland and talk cycling. Speak to some of the old-timers around there. We do not have doubt in Lances' capabilities.

Ride the Berkeley hills like abig dog and then PM me about how old and slow Lance is. Do not buy into it.

Lance ain't the dog of the bitter ex-fan boys. Happy M. Day Fred Taylor

Flicka, you are seeing a guy who is making hay off of seasons past. Saddle your hopes to a new stallion because this one has exhausted himself at stud (how many kids? Geez, with one orb you'd think he could get a discount on a vasectomy).

Wasn't Lance supposed to give all the money he made during his comeback to charity? I guess he forgot that one..

I don't believe I called him old (he's my age) or slow. What I pointed out is the difference between last year and this year since so many folks want to point to the past as proof of what will be in July. Time moves on my friend.

Except for Lance. He grows younger. Spawned from the evil seed of Gunderson! Look how many comments he has on this thread. Probably a record! Can you believe Planet Armstrong?

Lance has attracted multiple sponsors to the sport. I know my friends( the bolsheviks) in this forum believe sponsorship is evil but.....who's sponsoring on versus and universal? Not Putin nor the premier of North Korea.
