Now you know why Lance looked so worried when Lemond asked him if Catlin was going to incorporate output into his fake testing program like Garmin and Columbia do.

Don't want anyone to know your weight or output in case your new adviser Allan Lim might call him Frankenstein

Alan Lim:All I’ll say is that 6.7 watts per kg at threshold is not physiological or humanly possible, unless you’re a hybrid human horse or a grey hound human dog or another species. I don’t even think Frankenstein could hold 6.7 watts per kg at threshold. Though, I must say that, unlike most artificially manipulated creatures of science, Frankenstein did have a uniquely low carbon footprint as he was made of recycled body parts and was activated with a clean bolt of lightning. But that’s a totally different story.

He wasn't pushing that hard. Averaging 176 HR for 18 minutes should be nothing for Armstrong.

Yes... we are called Cycling Fan's.

We check through all the classements, check it against the parcour's and try to work out who is hot or not.

Hawaii is hot - Lance, not so much.

some take it way beyond being fans of cycling, but looking for any negative about a rider they dislike

I dunno, it's all part and parcel of living your life in public view. If other cyclists posted every moment of their life, including videos, people would scrutinise the content.

I look for evidence to support an athlete's claim. Armstrong claims to be at 71kg, 4kg less than at the 2009 Tour. So far he hasn't been able to climb like it in a race (see Stage 5 of the TDU) and the video he just posted certainly doesn't support that conclusion either. No one told him to make the claims or post the videos, but now that he has it's not unreasonable to expect to see something to back up his claims.

I'll say this much, I know why he dropped out of the Volta a Cataluyna.

I see where you guys are coming from and I do appreciate reading opinions from those who know more than I, however, some cannot make a post of any kind without lashing out at Lance. To be fair, though his style looked rough from that clip, who can say how long he'd been riding, and how fast he was going. Sure he didn't look real smooth but I think you're reading more into it than is really there.

That's all I said--he certainly didn't look like a world beater (and certainly not competition for AC or AS or Levi for that matter). He may have been doing intervals. Who knows. He posted it for cycling fans to see. We saw it and made our observations. I'm waiting for him to actually race so we can see how his 9 pounds of weight loss since the Tour make him more competitive in the mountains. :p

I'm not sure who this mythical "some" you are referring to here, but if you want to call someone out on their comment, then quote them. No straw men please. ;)

Hmm I remember him doing low cadence mountains all the time in early season along Charmeachel, to develop more strenght. He didn't lose 4kg though, no way. And the thing that bothers me are those tree stumps of calfs, that plus too much upper muscles will never make him light enough to compete in the mountains....

To me, Lance looks heavier here (TT training in Hawaii) than in pictures from the '09 TdF time trials. Much heavier. Can't figure out if it's due to the video quality, or if he has some other layer under the special skinsuit, but it looks like he has rolls of something running across his ribcage to back. Also, his legs don't look very well-defined either, in my opinion.

9 seconds over 14 miles. 72 seconds over 112...yep that'll cover lance's deficit in the swim and run to mix it with the ironman pros in his new career. Would be more interested to see the result if they both put in an effort.

That would make sense as Allen Lim is a big advocate of cooling, and has been trying out new cooling systems. I'd wager a few quid on any rolls being that.

I feel some of your pain, A couple days ago I said a somewhat complientary thing about how he is an inspiration to some people. I spent about an hour yesterday trying to qualify and clarify my observation.

I think Lance is a Liar and a Fraud among other things, but I just can't see how describing someone as so malevolent that absolutely ANYTHING he does deserves to be criticized, mocked and ridiculed.

Having said all that, if someone with my limited experience can recognize that form as shoddy, I would hardly call that 'microanalyzing'. Having said that, you are correct, we have no clue what preceded that clip.

OTOH, if he would just stfu he would do himself an enormous favor. I have already posted on that ad nauseum along with almost everyone else here. Can you agree that he brings a lot of the analysis on himself. Lance, just stfu! :)

on the other other other ther hand.....

Yes it disturbs me too, but I also agree with the stfu part. Whenever I see him post up comments like vs JV, I think: was that really needed? It probably ****s him up so badly that he can't shut his mouth, he should answer with his pedals instead.

That's one thing he could learn from AC. Sometimes less is more.

He never will just "stfu" for multiple reasons...

First, his personality as we all know, not a quiet one that looks to avoid the spotlight.

Second, there are many casual Lance fans, not necessarily cycling fans (cancer survivors etc.) that simply like to watch the guy and see what he is up to. I'm sure he knows that he inviting critiques of his riding and most lilkely doesn't think he has anything to hide such as poor form or fitness. We shall all see in the major races this year, no use in speculating right now.

You can't have it both ways. He posts it and us non-casual fans make commentary. The fact that we aren't cheering and basking in his Lanceness is immaterial. As for why he posts it and what he's thinking, I'll leave that to you and his loyal fans. I'll stick to making observations based on what I see. And I don't see a 71kg cyclist. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

And for the record, he's not doing any major races this year until the Tour de France.

Didn't he say he was at 71kg at the 2009 TdF? He looked like an anorexia boy there with his collapsed cheeks :s So no, he's definately not at the weight now, seeing he still has way about the same amount of muscle mass...

The dauphine will be a good indicator though.

This is the second time in 3 days in this thread that people have railed in an internet forum about people voicing their opinions in internet forums. I gave my opinion about pro team kit, yes clothing and caught hell.

It's a forum. I feel like pee wee herman after the cops searched his home for porn a few years after getting arrested for m-----bating in public. If I can't spout my ignorant ill informed blathering nonsensical pointless opinion here, where can I voice it? I don't try and stop you, I just disagree with you.

Lance won't stfu, and we are supposed to stand mute?
