Interesting comment by Wiggo today. He said by doing the Giro it gives him 20+ days of solid training with no distractions. ie no family, no home life to get in the way. Smart guy. He's going to **** on Lance's fat gut. Go wiggo!

Man he is clearly smarter than Lance, Schleck, Contador........

No, it's clear that Wiggins reacts differently to distractions than Armstrong, the Schlecks, or Contador.

Hopefully he's not too easily distracted during the race or he's going to end up in the Medivan. This first week has been nuts and it's a little early for anyone to start talking trash.

Maserati just owned Spartacus with that last post.

I do not think Armstrong is heavy. One thing that happens when you get older is your skin starts to sag. You can see it clearly on Armstrong arms and on his stomach. It does not appear that he is carrying extra weight, he just looks soft.

I expect him to do very well in the Tour. The course suits him as his climbing is doing well while his TT skills have suffered.

You really got to wonder what the long term damage he is doing to his body. He has been putting Nitrous into the Chevy for decades, wheels got to come off someday.

did Overend ever look soft ?

My only opinion on Armstrong's weight is that the roll I saw on his pictures here is similar to the riding photos of other guys since this thread started me looking.

I've been predicting since February that he won't be at the Tour de France, so for me the Tour Of California is kind of his swan song / last hurrah (I don't count Leadville, defense of his Colorado MTB Championship, or racing minor celebs to the next stop light) . I expect him to be near his peak for the year (whatever that means), but hope to see him schooled on various stages by Schleck, Cancellara, Boonen, etc., while still getting all the attention.

The UCI hasn't updated the weekly UCI points, but 16 earned by Weylandt pushes Quick Step ahead of Radio Shack with eighteen more stages plus big GC points available. Sky should be the next team to catch them.

According to hog, Contador must be the dumbest guy. He hasn't trained for over 8 days and spent all those days with family vacationing.

How did the 'wing' at the Flinders Medical Centre in South Australia "benefit pretty well from his comeback"?
They haven't even started building it yet!

As part of Lances healthy appearance fee for riding the TDU, Lance and Premier Mike Rann 'broke ground' at the 'Centre' - construction is not scheduled until later this year.

'Livestrong' did not 'donate' to the project - it was a publicity opportunity for Mike Rann and the only association with 'Livestrong' is

I am surethese people who are involved in trying to get funding for the 'LIVESTRONG Cancer Research Centre' would have preferred if the $2 million Lance got last year - and probably again this year - went to directly funding the building of the wing, rather than have a sports personality dig a hole in the ground.

Hanging out with Mike Rann can be hazardous to your health. Imagine if Lance was next to him when this happend?

Or even worse, when this happened?

Well: point one, I never said that Armstrong donated anything to the hospital in terms of money.
Point two: they did pretty well because of the impetus that his appearance gave to the project, and its a research wing not a patient wing.
Point three: Given that his foundation has raised tens if not hundreds of millions for cancer research over the years it makes me laugh when people like you take cheap shots like your $2 million reference.
So it not enough that his foundation donates millions, that the vast majority of sports people donate almost nothing to society, because he does not give all his income away that makes him a bad guy? Your pretty sad mate if you think like that.

Let us know when you can show us that this actually happened. It sounds more like an invented persecution complex.

Lol if you say so. I'm beginning to see why Dimspace won't have a bar of you people. I am also fast realising that apparently a troll is someone who has the audacity to have a contrary opinion to the rat pack on here.

Well sorry but I will continue to post against stupid and bigoted comments while also being happy to interact in sensible discussion with people who can actually reason.

Point 1. You said the hospital "benefited pretty well"... - well Rann & Lance did pretty well - yet the hospital still struggles to raise the required funds.

Point 2: This is true - they now have a hole in the ground where there was none before.

Point 2.5: I never referred to it as a "patient" wing and called it a 'research centre' twice, so...

Point 3: Nothing cheap (or amusing) about $2million of taxpayers money being spent on Rann's re-election campaign.

Point 3.5: The LAF appears well run and does a lot of good work although little goes to 'cancer research' as the LAFs stated goals are 'awareness'.

On your final point - no, I do not think like that - so that must make me happy.

Who's Dimspace? A personal friend?

Textbook troll behaviour is to complain about the system and persecution.

Go away Bagster.

Euskaltel opted out because they didn't have anybody for the race that could actually do something (aside from 1st and 2nd year pros).

That never stopped them before. :)

I just raced against Ned Overend in a mountain bike race this past weekend in San Jose CA - he's like 55 or something and still at around 5% body fat, he's riding fast and looking fast. Yes he won the pro/expert class of course but this was a very small local race, no big name pros there.

You made a claim, I asked you to back up that claim. You were unable to and instead tossed out some blanket insults to those who do not share your faith in the myth.

It is really pretty simple, if you are going to claim persecution at least have something to back it up......or you look like one of those paranoid guys who forgot to take his meds.

Oddly the rat pack in the Lance Armstrong thread are the haters.

Lance must be one of the most inspiring people in the world. He even inspires his haters to new levels of hate never seen before. These guys live to hate lance. I can only imagine how devastated they would become if lance disappeared from the cosmos. Of course they might have a lot more free time.
