Hey here is a (set of) blasphemous questions about your holiness (LA): So cancer ate his balls right? (maybe God actually exists :)) This means he has no own test production right? He does get hormone replacement therapy? So he would never test positive for external testosterone (like Landis) unless he exceeds some value (I presume), question is: what value (e.g. 800 ug/L, ng/L) does UCI/WADA use?

I hope its not a value taken from pre-cancer (circa 1996) where our hero looked like a bodybuilder!! I have heard that some federations (track and field or gymnastics??) have a very generous limit for some of these values. Discuss...I want to hear the Lance fans opinions too..

No, Lance has one working ball. The human body (even his) compensates when you loose one, to where the other produces enough to keep you "normal". His semen actually returned to being non-sterile and he got his latest girlfriend preggers.

He may have some issues later in life and need to take some meds, but should be fine.

Sorry, but I am bringing back this thread and the other one, following the latest round of nonsense in the circus plus a lot of new group of posters, I feel there will be another round of Lance threads. Lets try to keep them on these 2 threads please.

It's unfortunate that some posters don't possess a sense of humour and must defend their idol at every turn - you make one flip comment and you're the Antichrist - seem the 'Lovers of the Sainted Lance' are every bit as thin skinned as their idol...

Actually, I'm sure Armstrong fans are just that - fans of a particular rider - and those who are stigmatised as 'haters' are simply fans of the sport who turn a slightly more jaundiced and certainly a more critical eye on his doings. One thing he, and the fans, need to realise fairly quickly is that once he makes his run for the Governorship he'll be submitted to the kind of scrutiny an Internet forum could only dream of. The way he has handled the press in Italy is an object lesson in 'how not to' for a budding politician.

One thing to consider Dimspace is that it isn't those who are critical of Armstrong who make the sport all about him - it's the media and the sport itself and his fans, for whom the sport IS Armstrong. That's the reason his name creeps in everywhere, not because some people 'hold a grudge' are 'psychotic' carry 'psychic baggage' or some of the other ludicrous comments I've read on this thread.

Exactly. No wonder these off balance individuals have a problem understanding why Armstrong doesn't want to let some lone individual with a back pack stick needles into him. Call it what you want, obsessed, psycho, stalkers, or simple whacked out individuals - they have serious issues. One of them even admitted, albeit indirectly, that hating is fun.

Don't be so naive. To believe this part of the story twittered by Lance and Bruyneel is naive at best and more realistically delusional. This has been covered in other threads, but, IMO, the true story probably lies somewhere in the middle. Regardless, Lance, as the self-confessed "most tested athlete on the planet", knows the regulations and rules and should have waited until the tester's identification was confirmed.

Don't expect logic, intelligence, or even a working knowledge of the facts from a Lance fanboy. If Saint Lance says it is true then it must be true, even if it makes no sense at all.

How to handle the press

I usually agree 100% with your observations on Armstrong. However, the way he is handling the press is precisely how you do it in politics. Spin control these days is predicated on the fact that there are fewer and fewer intelligent people capable of reasoned, critical thinking. Politicians(and a certain bike racer) only care about the shallow, vacuous masses who will swallow whatever lies and disinformation they are fed- or twittered.

Mello Yellow put a link on the report from yahoo about the press boycotting Lance. The comments by very obvioulsy non cycling fans were comical. They prefer Lances twittering as opposed to media reports, why because Lances version on twitter is more likely to be truthful than the media version. What an absolute joke, its just so funny. These people beleve every word Lance utters is the absolute 100% truth. I might stop laughing in year or so.

Marinoni, you are right of course - and the 'fanboys' will swallow it all hook, line and sinker. But beyond them there is a borader constituency, even in politics, where some of us still do employ critical thinking - and I think the zeitgeist is taking us away from spin in politics and towards attempts at transparency.

Of course we all know how that ended up in Armstrong's case - transparency is the new opacity ;)

I find the very concept of these "fans" hanging on his every word to be comically pathetic, especially as they then jump into every other cycling forum and duly report what Saint Lance has just twittered as though anyone not as lame as themselves really cares.

no, comically pathetic are people like you who use every possible thing that happens as a new excuse to bash lance.
you being the same comically pathetic person that called riders cowards a few days ago.
what i find comically pathetic is your astounding smugness with your "saint lance" and "lame as themselves" and the unine colored jersey.

Uh-oh, looks like Francis got his panties in a wad. People bashing Armstrong in an Armstrong hating thread? Wow, that is hard to believe.

Hey moron, did you read the title of the thread? I realize that to believe that Sir Lance won without doping takes an amazingly dull intellect, but the reading comprehension it takes to decipher the thread title is 70 IQ kind of thinking.

equally hilarious are the ones who beleive that everything that comes out of lances mouth is a lie, and that everything he does is for his own selfish reasons..

the ones i respect, are the ones that know everything, written, spoken, or printed about just about anyone is a little bit of everything.. truths and half truths, lies and exagerations, there is truth and everything, and lies in some things..

the people at both extremes of the spectrum are equally ridiculous, those that see no bad and those that see no good..

in the end.. we are all still bleeding well talking about him.. :D
