equally hilarious are the ones who beleive that everything that comes out of lances mouth is a lie, and that everything he does is for his own selfish reasons..

the ones i respect, are the ones that know everything, written, spoken, or printed about just about anyone is a little bit of everything.. truths and half truths, lies and exagerations, there is truth and everything, and lies in some things..

the people at both extremes of the spectrum are equally ridiculous, those that see no bad and those that see no good..

Oh, touche, but a rational person can only take so many lies from someone before they decide that without corroboration they would not trust that person if he told them that the sky was blue. And anyone who would give that laughable and outright intelligence insulting speech in Paris in 2005 does not warrant much trust.

and whatever you think of him.. lovely picture hes just twittered of him with fabio casartellis son..

you cant make that up..

What you don't understand is that he could have visited Casartelli's son without ever letting us know. See, he sent the pictures for a reason, and it isn't to benefit Cassartelli's son. Why people like you buy into his narcissism is beyond me?

All you need to do is read up a bit on narcissism and then transfer over the knowledge to the actions of Mr Armstrong. Actually, the pictures of he and the young Cassartelli that he posted is a perfect example. It is easy to see that those pictures are meant to portray Mr Armstrong in a positive light. Normal people do nice things for the people their actions benefit. Mr Armstrong does them to benefit his image. Its easy to tell the difference based on his actions. See, those pictures weren't taken by someone else and posted. Ms Cassartelli didn't post them. The young Cassartelli didn't post them. No, Lance posted them. What is his message with those pictures? People who are truly kind and giving don't need to let people know they have those attributes because their point is to benefit the other person. In this case, it isn't even tough to achieve that psychological determination. In fact, his actions scream Narcissism.

Lastly, let me ask you this: If the point of the comeback is cancer awareness, why impose a black-out on the press? His little temper tantrum over everyone's annoyance at his actions regarding the Milano stage doesn't benefit cancer in the slightest.

You see cynicism. I only see cold reality.

I am with dimspace on this one. You know, sometimes people take pictures like those and put them online without any special reason, without trying to improve their image.

Mrs. Casartelli and her son, as far as we know, went to meet Lance in his hotel. The same happened a few days ago to that old lady who had rented a room to young Lance many years ago: she went to meet him at his hotel.

As far as I know, nobody has implied that they were recruited by Armstrong's agents to make pictures with him.

Don't be so hard on yourself, that's what people full of hate want you to do. Healthy people try to portray themselves in a positive way as often as possible. People in the public eye, like Armstrong, even more so because of the attending responsibilities of his position. Don't be fooled by some hack shrink that flunked Narcissism 101. Haters try to get YOU to portray yourself in a negative way - don't let them succeed by disrespecting yourself with those comments.

Armstrong has proved that he has been the greatest rider in the Tour, but that was the only race he really competed in to win. - Miguel Indurain:cool:

What was the philosophical theory called where everything everyone does is for personal selfish reasons? Contractualism... The opposite of Utalitiarianism me thinks...

Lastly, let me tell you this: As i have brought up many many times, armstrong is posting twice daily video blogs, often with levi, and other riders, on livestrong.com, those who wish to hear what lance has to have to say are forced to go to livestrong.. That is how he is ensuring livestrong is getting publicity.. there was plenty enough livestrong publicity prior to the giro, now, and correctly he is keeping his opinions to the race that is going on.. but by not talking to the press, and putting his comments on livestrong he is drawing attention to the foundation..

im not going to bother repeating this one.. wether you like him or not, its a perfecly good media savvy move..

stop finding reasons to be cynical until you have actually made the effort to go out and find the full facts.. ;)

as a point of note, im neither pro nor anti.. i like the bloke, i think hes a great rider, but i dont worship, neither do i hate him.. i find the idolisers nearly as frustrating as the haters.. :D

You may want to find the full facts.

Lance posts his daily videos at the Livestrong.COM site, not the .ORG site. The .COM site is a FOR PROFIT site that was set up by Lance and a guy who used to do a bunch of internet spam. Armstrong is trying to drive traffic to the .com site because he makes $$$$ off it and it builds his brand.

It has nothing to do with Cancer.

Yes, the livestrong.com thing is so ethical, isn't it? Rather like taking the appearance money for the TDU and banking it instead of giving it to livestrong as the race organisers had imagined.

Here's an interesting quote for you 'If I can get a minute a year, a minute a year isn't that much. When you're 30 you're not going to be 9 minutes faster than you ate at 21'. Yet that's exactly what Armstrong, the author of that quote, achieved. And Ashenden - and Betsy Andreu, and all the others - simply tell you how that was achieved.

And without Dr. Ferrari he would have never placed in the top ten.

And without the extra's neither would have the other 9. In a way it's all relative - if they were all doping and he won then he was technically still the best...

All I can say is that if you still believe the lie, you are just who PT Barnum referred to oh so many years ago.

I understand you need to live vicariously through the exploits of others to satisfy the failings of your own lives, but that doesn't mean I have to.

Lance is a fraud. Deal with it.

Oh, and calling me a "hater" only makes me think you are still an adolescent.

Thought today's stage write up was quite amusing.

Cyclingnews scouted the Astana bus for that elusive Armstrong quote, but press officer Philippe Maertens informed the wanting Anglophone posse who gathered outside the big blue bus, "Not today, not tomorrow… Even if he wins the stage [today], he probably won't talk [to you]."

What about attending the winner's press conference? Isn't it mandatory?

"No, he probably wouldn't go. I've checked the UCI rulebook, and he doesn't have to go if he wins [the stage]," he said.

I'd say he's riding better than I thought he would, but not as well as he thought he would.
Lost the plot, both on and off the bike, as a result.

Yep! You're a hater! Deal with it!

Accusing someone you don't know of being a criminal only makes me think that you're an idiot with a sorry little life...

Yep, six positives for rEPO makes me thing that you are a moron with an IQ just high enough to keep you breathing for still thinking Mr Armstrong is anything but a fraud. Of course, I already knew you were a moron. You just keep confirming it with each new post.

But, he is riding for cancer. How can he not talk about cancer? Thank goodness he is still riding his bike, because if he stops riding his bike, cancer will never be cured. Lance Armstrong has single-handedly done more for cancer than everyone who ever did anything for cancer combined. Lets make sure we keep pumping his ego by reading his twitter feeds and sending him emails telling him just what a great savior of the human race he has become. Goodness knows we also need to make sure that we also continue to persecute people like Simeoni and B. Andreau for daring to sully the reputation of the great cancer fighter.

Lance Armstrong is the dripping clap of cycling.
