Yes indeed, you obviously weren't looking. We deserved to get relegated, and without some dramatic changes, we'll go right back down again after we go up - assuming that we don't manage to blow promotion from this position. Actually, I'm reasonable hopeful, for the simple reason that we've been absolute sh!te since well before Christmas, yet we're still up there. Amazing really.

My housemate is Celtic.;)

Craig, are you winding me up?:D

Seriously, arshavin`s performance was abysmal last week. He set up the goal but we really carried him for long spells and i cant see why wenger is holding back alex oxlade chamberlain. He is only 18 but he is a much better player than walcott was at that age yet wenger gave plenty of opportunities to him back then.

It would be a perfect edition for a caption thread, unfortunately the one we do have, is cycling only. In other news I see Schalke got a big win over Stuttgart, I have a soft spot for them as I played with them on FM manager, 5-2 thrashing over Inter at the San Siro aside.

Make that 4. In the first half it was a close fought thing, but in the second, Real have run circles round them, and it's not been close at all, even before de Marcos was sent off. The gulf in class between the top two and the rest of the league is really shown here, because in the second half Athletic, who were 5th in the league before this weekend, have been made to look very average tonight. Unfortunately that waste of oxygen Cristiano Ronaldo had to stick his inbred craw into things, ensuring yet more of his gormless face being plastered all over things.

Spanish football is just Scottish football with better skills. Only two teams can win anything. Bah.
i am NOT going to tell my boyfriend you said that (though he may agree with you).

watching sports with a Scotsman when their team is involved is just a miserable experience

defining moment; 92 minute; defoe misses a sitter to give spurs the 3 points.

Now rather then being 2 points behind city they trail by 8. Hard to see them challenging for the title now.

Manchester City's Mario Balotelli has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association after appearing to stamp on Scott Parker.

The incident occurred in City's 3-2 win over Tottenham, with Balotelli scoring a late penalty to win Sunday's match.

Following a dismissal earlier this season Balotelli, 21, faces a four-match ban, but any unsuccessful appeal could result in a longer suspension.

Four games hardly seems enough, let's hope that they appeal. Shameful that the Spanish FA has not acted about the animal, Pepe.:(

Messi showed yet again against Malaga why he is head and shoulders the best player on the planet and why it is such a delight to watch him.

It's Paolo appreciation day!

This man is truly a living legend to all Hammers and will one day come back to manage the club.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQO0fNzVgcg - after his last home game when he scored the winner against Chelsea - I was there with my oldest son, Paolo celebrated his goal at the corner flag right in front of us, an unforgettable and highly emotional moment that neither of us will ever forget.

Di Canio = LEGEND!

It's incidents like these that make me glad Inter sold him when they did. Financially it was a win for them as they only payed about 350k from Lumezzane when he was 15 and then profited massively when City came calling. I would have taken the money as well.

Bilbao through to the semis of the Copa after Mallorca go for the "bank it all on the last 15 minutes" approach, then their goalkeeper misses a backpass (which was on target, schoolboy error) and they find themselves needing 4 in the last 15 minutes.

Everything else all about the Barcelona-Madrid game afterward. On the plus side, the whole coverage is not based on a Lionel Messi and Xavi Hernández verbal fellatio festival where the pundits compete over who can stick their heads furthest up Pep Guardiola's rear; on the minus side, this appears to be because the sole focus of coverage is "who is Pepe going to kick today?".
