Well, Ronaldo didn't deliver anything in Rio.
I would disqualify him based on that alone.

goalkeeping and field playing are just two completely different ballgames.
there should be two prices.
given that there is only one price, i think indeed neuer would be an appropriate winner. He's been consistent and consitently played at toplevel with incredible saves and some post-modern goalkeeping.
messi has been below his potential all year (except last few weeks perhaps), ronaldo was below his potential at the world cup.

btw. i think Robben has been very consistent and consistently impressive this year including at the world cup. C/should perhaps have been rewarded with a top three spot.

Tonight's the cup final of Brazil, with both final teams being from Belo Horizonte.
The local newspaper decided there's only 1 thing that matters today. The rest is just 'bla'

I love it :D

Its a good publicity stunt for sure.

It's a disgrace Robben didn't get elected as best player of the World Cup, instead they chose Messi

I'd have gone with Kroos or Müller. Out of these three, Neuer.

Didn't make it.

Markovics red card was very stupid indeed.
But overall Liverpool are actually simply not good enough for the last 16 at the moment.
I thought the formation in the second half was interesting, overall the first half was abysymal. As if they had never heard of pressing. The Europa League is the more fitting competition for them.

What I don't understand is what the **** the idea is playing Henderson on the wing, I'm not convinced by him overall in general, but he's really rather a guy for the middle of the pitch, he's just not good enough to play there for a big club.

Nervy game so far Roma v Man City... Roma is playing much better than the start of the game.

Barca v PSG turning out to be entertaining.

Bayern hardly look like they are trying against CSK Moscow.

No comments yet about the significant upheaval at Barca?

Messi and Neymar started on the bench last weekend against Sociedad, and Barca duly lost, despite Real also losing.

CAS rejected Barca's appeal, which means that they cannot buy any players till 2016.

Yesterday, Zubizaretta was fired, and Puyol resigned.

Rumors abound that the previously unthinkable, has become thinkable: Messi is said to be unhappy, and perhaps receptive to the idea of a new adventure elsewhere!

Lionel Messi has denied that he demanded Barcelona sack their manager, Luis Enrique, and says he has no intention of leaving the club, describing reports linking him to Chelsea or Manchester City as “lies”.

At the end of a week of crisis Messi broke his silence on the club’s TV channel after Barcelona’s 3-1 victory over Atlético Madrid.

“I have never demanded anything to stay because I don’t have any intention of going,” he said. “I heard people say that my dad had spoken to Chelsea, to City … it’s all lies.”

“I heard all sorts of things said. I never come out and deny [stories] but this time I am. It has been said that I have pushed out lots of people … Eto’o, Ibrahimovic, Bojan, Guardiola … [and] I didn’t ask them to sack our manager.

“It’s not good for people to look for rivalry between me and Luis Enrique because there isn’t any,” Messi added.

“It hurts because it comes from people who [supposedly] love Barcelona. It’s people who want to hurt the club – and this time it did not come from Madrid, like other times, it has come from here. I have heard lots of things being said about me before and now. They make it look like I am the one who is in charge here when I am just another player.

“Don’t throw sh!t at us from outside because that will only do us harm.”

Ravel Morrison

What a shocking waste of talent. It seems that no one even wants him on loan any more.
He should be the hottest property in English football, instead he is traning with West Ham reserves.

Entirely his own fault. He has ****ed up at every club he's been to, and also outside of football. I don't know about "hottest property", but it is certainly a great shame that the lad has wasted his talent.

When Alec Ferguson identifies someone of that talent as a waste of time that young there is normally a reason.

Suprised though thar no manager has taken him on, loads of them have the arrogance to believe they can get something out of a player where others have failed.

Alex Ferguson also identified him as the best player he had seen for his age.As far as other managers, both Sam Allardyce at West Ham and Harry Rednapp at QPR have managed to get some great performances from him before it all turned sour.
England Under 21 v Lithuania sums him up.A brilliant 2 goal performance before he get's involved in a fight with his own team mate.
Apparently Lazio might take a punt on him in the Summer.
