So Hiddink to step in and keep the seat warm at Chelsea until Pep arrives in the summer?

I most fervently hope not. I hope he'll replace Louis at ManU. I love Pep and detest Chel$ki, so I hope he'll be smart enough not to even think of that viper's nest. Even Citeh would be 'preferable'.

Wouldn't surprise me if Man U say goodbye to LVG at the end of the season and go for Mourinho. He'd be perfect for United who need to start winning trophies. Despite this seasons shocker Mourinho always wins trophies.

Doesn't seem likely with the current board of United.

Has he ever won a trophy in which he didn't have the most expensive squad and pretty much best player at most positions, in the league?

I don't think so. I think the same can be said for Guardiola too?

Porto. Chelsea last year. City, United spent more.

As said above Porto and I'll also add Inter Milan 2010 into that mix too. Whilst they had a very good squad they weren't considered massive favourites at the start of the tournament.

Like most top managers Mourinho has earned the right to coach the very best and be able to spend big money. Afterall in modern day football if you don't spend money and have a great squad of players you've got little chance of being successful.

Weren't they like the 4 time defending champions?

Thank god we got rid of that clown.
Boooooo!
I'd much rather they kept him and watch them end up getting relegated

This indeed. However, given Hiddinks track record in the last few years, one can still hope. :p

Mouhinho this and that. Just couldn't watch or read anything about PL without him being in the frame something. Happy hes gone. As for Chelsea, well I couldn't care less about the club.

Anyone can win a competition when you have the best players in the world.

Not everyone however has the talent to take the best team in the league and have them fighting relegation.

I find it funny how Jose has only managed to win Champions with the two worse teams he's coached.

Re: Re:

I do.

I like Chelsea but have no real "vested" interest / link to the team. Other than I worked before with a group of guys who were Chelsea fans and they took me to my first Football game at Chelsea back in 95.

Since I'm a merikan I would love to root for a good national team but as I said before we could dope these guys to gills and still not stand a chance in hell to win the world cup. :D

When I was a little southern boy my dad who was a true Southern Man told me that he was going to punch the *** out of me if I kept trying to watch those two "queer sports". (cycling and soccer) HAHA he would roll over in his grave if he knew I was still keeping up with it! :D

Now be honest you thought I was some Whiskey Tango who never left the trailer park didn't ya?

No, just haven't seen you around here.

Fwiw, I strongly dislike the tendency to focus (media) on managers/trainers/owners etc rather than the players. Hence I'm happy with the latest dismissal.
I was glad to see him fired. I thought he was annoying much like the Dutch manager of Man U.

I stand by my point, Mourinho will win a club trophies. This season is a very rare exception. Many top managers have required money to succeed and that won't change, especially with money at he top level getting even more extravagant.
As for the point on Inter Milan, no they weren't defending champions, they hadn't won a European cup for over 40 years previously.

The club died when the Glazers arrived. Van Gaal seems to fit the current setup. Drab, lifeless.

Moving on.

its almost certain newcastle will follow up their last 2 excellent results by sucking at home to villa today.

i don't care how successful people think mourinho is, i wouldn't take him even if he guaranteed trophies for the next 10 years, i think he is the vilest person in football.
