A former national team captain can say "**** off, **** off, yeah, yeah and you ****ing black ****, ****ing knobhead" and not be found guilty of racism by a court.

And admit saying it and still be cleared. :fp

Absolutely disgusted.

The thing too is that he can be replaced and the man I would go for is Yann M'Vila with Rennes. He protects the back four a lot better than Song and does'nt get ahead of the play like Song does which leaves the back 4 vulnerable to counter attacks. BTW I don't think Barca need him anyway.

M'Vila is probably going to Spurs as a replacemnt for Modric as far as the rumours are going atm

I am now certain that Man U shall win. Last season they were beaten by points difference- this year they have arguably one of the top 5 strikers joining another top 5 striker Rooney. The end result is Man U shall have an awesome attack, Carrick/ Fletcher can anchor down the midfield and Young/ Nani can do their magic on the wings. Vidic shall hopefully play the whole season and the young backs have hopefully developed.

The only problem is De Gea- but Lindengaard could be a suitable replacement.

Crappy Arsenalfans  Burning RvPs shirt and so on. Wife threatened on Twitter.

Van Persie is a top player who wants to win prices. If Arsenal can't offer that to him, they should let him go. And be proud he played for them.

Van Persie is not an Arsenalfan like you. That picture probably proves he liked Arsenal by then, but half the country wears shirts of Barca/Real/Arsenal (especially because Arsenal is relatively populair in Holland).

But he's said he wouldn't go to a rival. But you also know there were no clubs outside England who could afford him. So only City and United remained. Then you can do two things: stay and hold your word or move and break it. I don't think the first thing was desirable, so I can understand he ultimately moved to United. But I'm sure he still loves Arsenal.

And of course I know how Arsenal saved Van Persie in his early career. But I think he payed Arsenal back with his performances and a transfer fee of >20 million pound with only 1-year contract. And everybody in Rotterdam saw his talent, so Arsenal had a pretty good deal to buy him relatively cheap.

Gooner. I see that Shay Given has announced his retirement from the Irish International Team. Great keeper. He will be hard to replace.

Just wondering if following Arsenal is a relatively new thing in the Netherlands i.e. Since Bergkamp started playing. Prior to that I can't imagine their style of football would appeal to the Dutch?

Yea 1-0 nil to the Arsenal stuff under George Graham must have been freaking boring.

At least Jenkinson is good for you in defence. Wenger should play a 4-3-1-2 with Cazorla as CAM and Gervinho/ Walcott free to move forward a bit more.

If you get that French player for midfield that of course would not happen. Giroud needs to score or should soon be dropped.

Cazorla is an excellent player and liked him always down the years. Podolski and Giroud only played one game in pre-season against Cologne and Wenger has been accused by many Arsenal fans (including me) of giving them too much time off after the Euros. For instance Walcott and Chamberlain played in the games in the tour of Asia and they played in the Euros as well. Anyway I am not too worried with Podolski as he has a good goal scoring record with Germany and had a very good season in a struggling Cologne team last season and I think he will settle down into the Premiership shortly. But I do have my doubts about Giroud though. He is 26 next month and he has had only one good season in the top division in France before signing for Arsenal. For instance he has never got goals in the Champions League or the Europa League. Plus he has only 1 goal for France. For me he is a French international because France don't have the depth of strikers that they had in the past like Henry, Trezeguet, Anelka, Wiltord and Saha just to name a few. I watched him a few times last year for both Montpellier and France and besides his goal against Germany in a friendly he never really impressed me.

I would'nt just blame the strikers at the moment either. Gervinho is a terrible player who's final ball and finishing is just shocking. With the exception of Chamberlain who will be a serious top player I don't rate the wide players at Arsenal. They are constantly trying to play through the middle with Cazorla and Arteta as they wide areas with Gervinho and Walcott are'nt good enough. Podolski is not a winger and I was'nt happy seeing him play out there against Stoke on Sunday. Luckily Chamberlain is back from injury as he came off the bench. I would like to see a top winger being bought in the last few days of the transfer window. It may happen as there are many stories going around the last few hours that will be in tomorrow morning's newspapers saying Walcott will be likely sold before the window ends as he has rejected a contract of £75,000 a week. Liverpool and now Man City are interested. Anyway I am not a big fan of him so I actually do hope they do sell him so Arsenal can get in the top winger that they badly need.

BTW Spurs have agreed a fee with Fulham for Moussa Dembele. Would of liked to of seen us sign him. Watched Fulham's game aginst United on Saturday at Old Trafford and he was outstanding.

Yh i agree mate with what you say especially Giroud lol,and Dembele ripped us to pieces i wanted him too. Wenger has to spend though, its to long now without a trophy. At the moment Arsenal are just a selling club with no ambition these days.
What about Kagawa then what a player he is for us he has been unreal ,same as Hazard for chealski.

glasgow rangers manager mc coist is less than happy!

Have to say I find the way the CL is seeded is pure ridiculous. Champions of France and Germany 4th seeds and Manchester City 2nd seeds whilst other non champions are No 1 seeds. So winning your own league is of no benefit in the CL.

Nice way to keep the status quo among the big clubs as always.

BTW Libertine what is happenning at Bilbao? They were dreadful on Monday against A.Madrid. Javi Martinez is gone and Llorente has only 12 months left on his contract and could leave. Ander looks a shadow on the player he was last season and he was very angry at getting substituted. The team seems to have no confidence.
Confidence seems to be at a premium. Lacking in Llorente (or only having a Llorente lacking in motivation) isn't having a good knock-on effect. The space respect for him created for the midfield was key to the success last year; something I really can't see being the same without him; much as I like Toquero (he's very popular with a lot of Athletic fans and I'm no different) he's a super hard worker, but not a born goalscorer; Aduriz is good but he doesn't command the same respect and fear Llorente does.

The defence feels paper thin at the moment, but that's perhaps to be expected. Have you seen some of the lineups in defence recently? Gurpegui has been lining up at centre back (!) alongside Mikel San José where possible (yay, a real CB!!!), but if not, anybody at all who is available - Aurtenetxe, Borja Ekiza and Jónas Ramalho have all seen playing time at the heart of defence, Óscar de Marcos has been at right back (I know he's done it before and to good effect at Athletic, but it's not where he should be). This is mostly to do with the worrying injury list, and of course the departure of Javi Martínez, which puts a hole in the squad as he was equally at home in defence and as a holding midfielder. Iturraspe can replace the midfield part of that (and indeed did when Javi was in defence), but just bringing Ustaritz back off loan isn't really good enough to replace him in defence. Fernando Amorebieta and Jon Aurtenetxe are both out at the moment; put those two back in and the defence looks much stronger; it might be fair however to cut Ander Herrera (and Iturraspe too) some slack as both of them are playing hurt at the moment - the lack of depth (partially self-inflicted due to club policy) is one of the team's biggest problems.

Very pleased with yesterdays events but also very angry. The truth has finally come out and there is a need for the justice to follow.
Hillsorough would not have happened if the police had not opened the exit gate but they closed ranks, lied and blamed the innocent victims. It was more important to them to protect their reputations than take accountability for their actions.
