It wouldn't surprise me if it is Menchov as the UCI gets revenge for Katusha winning a pro tour licence at CAS.

RE: Biopassport infraction

if folks use their brains they could work out who it is because he would have the least political influence in the uci hierarchy.

i dont even have to bother naming who it would be. i provided you with the cypher.

they could bring down a few dozen with manipulation from the biopassport. so why would they choose one? he chooses himself, as there are no friends in aigle

Only rider to have done TDU, Amstel, Roubaix and Turkey and not riding the Giro.

I could list numerous other clues as well, but Cyclingtips may not appreciate it..

Maybe someone already debunked the following hypothesis, but I haven't see it yet:

The secret pro is not a single rider. It's at least 3, and a ghost-writer (CyclingTips states up front that they use one) takes their accounts and writes as if it were all from a single person.

Was thinking the same thing.

OT: an utterly brilliant marketing device by CT.

it might morph that way. but was not intended that way. everything i have read, only a handful of the posts, indicate KdK.

but de Koet is tight with the pros from Melbourne town. he did a reccie for Wade Wallace of the Geelong Circuit about 100 months before in the off-season.

Matt Keenan the commentator drops his name in the telecasts and he says he is a pseudo Australian with his girlfriend from Melbourne. He speaks(writes) as well as a dutch/german/scandanavian who learn like a native speaker. and his drops in to Australian colloquial idiom "take the p!$$" like a native. I dont think Wade uses artistic license with such quasi profanity.

New post by the secret pro is out - it's pretty juicy: http://cyclingtips.com.au/2013/05/the-secret-pro-2/

Interesting. So if I run a database query I get 480 riders that started a grand tour last year. If I filter out those who didn't race in October, did race TDU and did race Amstel and ride on Shimano I get four possible riders, well I actually get seven but I'm excluding three as impossibilities.

W. Bonnet
S. Gerrans
D. Impey
A. Moinard

If you allow those who raced in October it opens up a few more possibilities.

If you guys on here can't do a Belle de Jour and out this rider properly then you're not worth your collective salt.

It's 99.9% certain that Sky Procycling aren't doping either.

The text strongly implies that SP rode the Tour of Turkey too.

"He certainly turned a few heads on stage 6 of the race when he danced away from the rest of us like we were a bunch of juniors"

Is it very likely that the gear is shimano? The electric stuff is not exactly new (just been one or two high profile incidences of failure lately). In cycle sport's man in the bunch thing last year there was a comment about one major supplier being the one you didn't want your team sponsored by. I took it to be SRAM for some reason but nothing to back that up!

Turkey was thrown in as a distraction. Only five riders did Turkey, TDU and a Grand Tour last year, none did Amstel though. Three are definite no as the pro and the other two Renshaw and Brown highly unlikely.

There's one rider who fits the criteria, but is dismissed for stupid reasons. It'll be him. Some people posting are already totally confident it is.

Please do tell about Sky (not in this thread though).

I know man! Sky never employed the doctor who actually was the doctor of the most likely candidate, just making this remark of yours even more hilarious than sad.

I'm hearing the Benny Hill tunein the background while you slowly come to the realization that indeed... the doctor who was there with Menchov's three wins was actually the same doctor preparing Wiggins.

How can you denounce one and say the other is 99.9% clean? I await you remarkable jump of faith.

I think when he says "us" he meant "us as a pro-riders".

I'm pretty sure it is Simon Gerrans...

-Have raced several GT, World championships and classics
-He is probably english-speaker (and Australian too, like the website...)
-He raced the Tour down Under
-He's in a world-tour team.
-Raced the "Amstel" (at least)
-He's gonna race the Tour de France
-He doesn't race the Giro.

If it is just one rider, I think it's clear, if it is several riders, he is probably one of them.

who cares.

now WW can actively solicit other riders to contribute to this creation.

its like the biopassport rider, it does not take much background to assess who it is. if you have access to australian commentary with keenan, this is a definite advantage.

This "Secret Pro" might be a journalist writing down stuff he got told by riders confidentially.

Some of you also supposed it´s written by different riders. Also possible.

Adam Hansen was once mentioned, he could be Secret Pro. I don´t think it is ONE pro, or even a pro at all. Otherwise, it should be possible to work out (with lots of work) who he is.
