Wow, the sheer brazenness of the deflection and dishonesty is breathtaking!

p.s. Digger, bring those questions to the clinic, not here.

and how many times have you been asked the same question?

no it is not - you were banned four times you think - and you gave advice above to someone about how they should debate - excellent!!

Well, you can now get banned for NOT breaking the rules. So, bans have become rather meaningless.

Digger said:
so are sky clean would you say? As of yesterday still waiting for you to answer than one
Can I take that this is acknowledgment of your error and an attempt to get some deflecting posts in?

Again, this is about your own personal bias against MV.

I don't agree with MV on a lot of points - but they are more than capable of not trolling and baiting - but can do so when provoked.

This is more a reflection on your style and lack of ability to engage in debate or discussion and have anything of substance to say.

I thought this was about my opinion. Isnt that what you asked for?

So the bans are the issue now

absolutely not - it's alluding to the fact that I asked him that yesterday...and still waiting for a reply..

but to answer his question...I was not aware because I still believe I did nothing wrong...if I posted his name or address as parker did, then fair enough.

Guys,

I've been testing my ability to delete posts, and the last page of this thread has been deleted. I don't think these deletions will detract from the sum of human knowledge represented by our collective postings.

No warnings have been given - though the yellow and red cards are very tempting. Please have a discussion about something else, cycling perhaps.

Thanks.

Lock the thread - not being a smart *** - it's probably for the best

You linked to an account which could have added personal information on it from previous tweets. That maybe done after personal interaction with people who have nothing got to do with this forum or the sport. I have no doubt there are forum members who use their real name on twitter accounts and have that account as separate to here due to the personal nature of it.

You still fail to recognise this.

EDIT: Just seen Wallace and Gromit's post.

Deleting posts for fun already?

This thread exists to take care of off topic stuff so it doesnt spread and derail other threads. Just leave it be.

Not for fun. The feeling is much like sending errant children to the "naughty step". It's not much fun, but sometimes is necessary.
It is actually appreciated that you stepped in.

As it was going off point - however, the issue of revealing real life identities is a worthy topic as it effects all as well as how the forum would be see and is especially relevant now in what just has happened.

Holy jesus, this thread has amassed over 20 pages...just from today.

I can't believe I'm even dipping into this pool, but there a couple of things worth pointing out.

I couldn't agree more with this, however, based on past actions, it would seem that this is a very grey area for the CN overlords (not referring to the mods). Once upon a time, one of the longest registered members of this place (some might say the longest ) deliberately, and with malice, posted the complete home address of another well-established forum member, just because it was available as part of a public database that had absolutely nothing to do with CN or this forum. Nothing.

Coincidentally, nothing was done about it (besides the removal of the post). I repeatedly asked the mod team about this (in the mod thread), and why actions weren't taken against that forum member. Repeatedly, my questions were ignored until eventually the response came that they were "dealing with it." However no bans or suspensions were EVER handed out as a result.

So there you have it.

[edit]
For the curious, I am not referring to Papp Gate.

The only post from the previous pages I'm going to touch is this one, and I'm surprised no one picked up on it yet:

"I will f***ing fight anyone who says anything against him on this"

Second hand it may be, but it's on this forum and it's a threat, directly by you, of violence.
That's about as misleading as one can get. That "post" (as the link will clearly indicate) is of Benotti69 directly quoting one of Digger's tweets. Saying that it is "on this forum" and trying to pretend that the "threat" was somehow directed to this forum, is quite a stretch, to say the very least.

It was a statement that Digger was making on Twitter, towards others on Twitter. Having it quoted here, by another member, hardly transfers the content of that tweet into a post by Digger. But if I really have to explain such things...

While thats fair to show that, the context of MVs original post on the matter shows when he mentioned 'violence' he was not solely saying it was from this forum.
martinvickers said:
You take that quote to the mods, and see if they consider it a threat. Please, go right ahead...

...as compared to the clear hints of physical confrontation you dropped (not to mention your previous blatant threats of violence to others - as I say, you have form).
But - as is often the case, when there is a flood of posts context can get lost.

How the hell is that misleading - "Secondhand it may be" makes it BLATANTLY CLEAR - in case of doubt I linked to the post!!

I give you this, you're trying...but you've gone and picked the wrong horse because of your own bias.

You might want to learn to read properly before trying to come over all sarcastic.

Well, yes. Tenuous is the word you're looking for.

"I plan to fight these charges"

"I will fight this disease"

"I will fight against those who oppose me to win this election"

"I will fight anyone who stands in the way of equality"

I often find those who see violence in such a loose and casual reference are themselves looking for a fight.

Besides, how would one fight each other across the Internet? Do we need a Mortal Kombat feed in here?

If fight meant violence then we need to redefined the English language.

Context is important. So is meditation and deep breathing.

I am not a mod.
If you have an issue then take Benottis personal post to them for their consideration.

Although I am not sure if Benotti not be able to be amusing is a mod issue.

I am querying you on why you went personal with Benotti, when you have spent so much time telling the forum that we shouldnt get personal.

I am not a mod - but I can point out some easy solutions to them.

If they want to ignore it, and allow people get personal then so be it.
