Bro went at the Armstrong groupthink, or rather its god, RR. The groupthink got irritated and responded with their own attacks and insults. Eventually a mod drives by and takes out BroDeal to restore peace and order, and now everyone can go back to calmly obsessing over how evil Armstrong is.

I dont want the same bans, I want no bans. But if the mods are going to ban people for things like this, then they should ban everyone that breaks the rules.
Thats exactly what he did- Bro went after RR.
Not because he was wrong, but because sad people like you are jealous of RR.

If RR was wrong - then there is no need to even mention him, just show where it was, but he couldn't.
If Bro had actually kept an open mind and looked at the actual posts, he may have spotted his error. To me, initially thats all it was.

However, he continued his onslaught and it was personal.

Your views on Bans changes a lot on the who, not the why, doesn't it.
I remember this:

Sounds like youre starting to get personal now doc. Saying im jealous of RR is a bit like me saying you have a crush on him because he can do nothing wrong in your eyes. But I wont say that, I try to judge each situation on its own merits.

My view on bans is that pure trolls designed to disrupt threads should get banned. I dont think BroDeal, or RR fit into that category.

I am getting personal, I am addressing you.

Difference is, I can back up my claims. You got personal too, thats fine and dandy in my eyes, but you cannot back it up.

As an example - you just wrote "because he can do nothing wrong in your eyes", when just upthread I said I did not agree with RR in their interpretation of the Detroit article.

When someone is correct, I usually back them - I have even done that for Hog, Bro and you - if you think i back RR a lot, that because he is more often than not correct.

How does MV disrupt threads? They don't - they just have a different opinion to you. That is a reflection on your ability to post, not theirs.

My problem is more with the double standards of the mods. But now that Hog and BroDeal have been safely removed you can pat yourselves on the back and go back to the circle jerk.

Now you are attempting a BroDeal but you are nowhere near as good at it.

If you are bored just say so.

So that explains the "group think" comments?

I came to this forum in a huge dispute with RR (Eva Maria), TFF and a few others.

I was wrong and admitted as much. BroDeal could have done the same. So can you.

Why don't you go be quiet somewhere?
You've ranted on and on about how RR is leader of a groupthink etc etc and how unfair the mods are…

There is no double standard..RR did not come into this forum and start picking at and trolling BroDeal in the first place..Bro came here with an attitude and a new slant on life and kept niggling and daring RR to back up his 'lies' ..which he continued to try to do.

I do also remember a few weeks ago when BOTH hoggie and RaceR got bans..EQUAL bans.

Now go find someone else to whine about.

:D. I love it.

sceptic please get real...............let bro fight their own battles when they are back

did you see RR ignore a direct instruction from a mod like bro?

was RR continually lieing / making stuff up?

saying how putrid the forum was just because they did not get their own way?

or stalking a member they disagreed with?

thanks!

Yup - let the big boys fight their own battles. They are quite capable of doing so.

I also have to pitch in a little insider insight. RR is not as, (hmmm, what word?) snarky, nor as devious with words, as BroD and hog. But, he has gotten his share of warnings at the least, and at least one ban for a spell. Given the disruptions I witnessed 1st hand, I would say the scales are about right at the moment.

This IMO is the completely wrong attitude.

If you want me to just go ahead and fight people, ridicule, lie, distort, bait and flame, just say so - I have been extremely nice in my postings here. The Vortex is nothing to what I am capable of.

My view is that all people should be protected from such personal attacks - because it will only go one way.
(The example being - the subtle troll post I sent to Sceptic that they responded too)

Did you call him a large colon? It is totally ok to call other posts a large Colon. Lair is also cool.

Lair: den, or cave. Hole in the ground, home for animals or families of animals.

I don't get it. What's wrong with being called a home for animals?

Nah, nvm. I know it was just a typo, but I enjoyed the humor of it. Probably too dry to translate. This place does remind me of Animal House.

Now, now, Dr Mas - you surely are sophisticated enough to realize that not all fighting is fisticuffs? Nor are all illegal shots below the belt, right? Sometimes the battle is won by apologizing, neh?

But yes, I do agree your restraint and 'niceness' has been remarkable. I'm not saying that savvy sophist posters, such as yourself, should have everything their own way. I AM saying they do not need assistance in defending themselves - I think they can manage to speak for themselves.

It could be that you already understood this. It could be that you are setting up a troll at this very moment through a very slight deviation from intent. It could be I did not write as clearly as I thought.

Here, though, recall Bugs Bunny in the Hare and The Tortoise:

Meehhhh! It's a POSSIBILITY!!!!

Cheers, bruv.

I am not setting you up, or whatever - I simply disagree.

Of course people could apologise or make clear their position in a discussion that avoids an apparent conflict or troll.

But, if the attitude is to leave people sort it out, more often than not, it won't end well. And this of course is under the assumption that no intent was meant.

If someone is out to 'troll' or be disruptive, they are not interested in playing nice.

The best way for this to end is for George to apologize for the confusion. While BroDeal would like to pretend differently many people see it the same as we do and the end result is George is not looked on kindly.
Is that a call for a collective grouphug?

its the vortex uncertainty principle. No one knows what it is until Dr Mas makes a post to collapse the wave-function. :D

Do you wish to let me know what it is?

Because regardless of Reds post I still do not know what it means nor has anyone explained it. I do know that it gets trotted out by people who do not wish to discuss something - it appears to be an ad-hominen.

One thing I know - is that whatever it is, it is not deliberate or used to 'troll' - so it is me being 'nice'.

Some day, Dr Mas, I would love to have a live face-to-face convo with you. Your arguments are priceless. But there are so many possibilities for meaning in what you write. A face-to-face allows all the body language to join the conversation.

Wouldnt we all?

As for vortexing.. I believe the reference comes from when the argument starts to go around in circles.

The vortex can be both good or bad obviously, depending on the motives.

I know your motives are good Dr and that you dont intend to turn threads into walls of text, but when both you and whoever you argue with refuse to give up, then that is what will happen.

The absence of face to face can makes it difficult to gauge people.
But as far as I am concerned I am pretty straight up. If anyone needs to know something thats relevant to a discussion, then they can ask me. I will attempt as much as possible to show where my point comes from.

I am not here pretending to be an insider, or that I have any expertise in a particular area - i am a cyclist, this is a cycling site, I would expect to meet likeminded people.
This is place that is public, yet the participants are anonymous, so I judge the information provided - for the very reason that this is not a face to face convo.

Its a forum - it is meant to be a wall of text. As for going around and around - if I question someone its sometimes because I suspect they are posting BS, or that they may just be wrong, or that I genuinely do not know or understand their points.

What often happens is that instead of backing up what they posted, or admitting their error they post irrelevant answers or divert the discussion, or just cry vortex.

this is so obvious..................don't blame mas.. vortex is reached when

members refuse to accept that they are wrong/different views are valid

sums up the forum/life in general 'i'm a genius and others are idiots'

You'll know the Vortex when you're in it. But to be fair to the Doctor, it does take two to play.
