I was directed to this thread as being a better place to discuss this, if it is not then I am sorry. I have no idea what the phrase "amount of blowage" means.

Hopefully you WOULD object the term "kill" if some one posted it in a death threat.

There is a difference between using the term/action "Rape" figuratively and literally.

Posting that a rider "raped" the course is bad enough. Figurative.
But posting that one hopes a rider is raped while in prison, literally, that is bannable in my opinion. Akin to a death threat. Scary and sick.

Part of the reason this forum doesn't blow is Polish. Your constant obvious trolling is a joy to read many times. I am however confused as to the object of your rule. Is the person bannable, or is prison rape bannable? And, is bannable a word? Because i get squiggly red lines under the word in my world. Clarity in sentence structure and spelling are preferable in instances like this. Just a free tip! Grrr...laser like focus! lol

that's my bad. i couldn't think of better place to discuss the word, so i thought this thread would be ok since it kind of an all-purpose thread.

What I can't understand is how LL was allowed to post RR's real identity on the forum and get away with it. I mean, if someone posted my real identity I would fully expect that person to receive a permanent ban from the site. The fact that someone can do that and then continue posting as though nothing happened, could have a chilling effect (if only a slight one) on the other posters. And how did she know his real identity in the first place? And why is she still posting here after doing that?

i think i was in the air (literally) when that came about, but quite a few people referred back to it -- though they said the post(s) had been deleted.

if true (as i said, i wasn't a witness), RR was outed, the damage done, post deleted, and CN lost one of its most valuable assets.

and the troll bots on and replicates, making any discussion a joke.

Looong time lurker here. I saw the post with a link to a real name twitter account, too. (I guess that is what is meant here.)

As a long time lurker I can also attest to the sudden drop in quality. I even came to this far-out part of the forum to see if quality-control will be exercised soon.


I estimate a drop of 70% in clicks and page views by me. About the same as the drop in content.

That sucks! Why not permanently ban her? I've read a few of "her" discussions in LA related threads in the clinic and that boils down simply to war of attrition with opposition(without use of any relevant arguments) to the point of chasing people away with disruption of discussion. And now getting to the personal level - that is just inexcusable!

What clinic needs(and possibly some other subforums) to help knowledgeable/informed people to stay and interested (lurkers and other members) to easier get the facts are INFORMATION-only threads that would have special attention of moderators - hell, special moderator could be given the task of cleaning only such threads. Such thread would contain only information regarding the external world relevant to the thread title(that excludes opinions or similar, just raw information and let others to do the judging). That would slow down the trolls and threads would not grow as fast because only that much of information relevant to single topics is generated. The rules would also be very strict for off-topic with very little tolerance if any. All opinion based discussion could be made in separate threads that would reference information threads.
This is very similar idea to some proposal I've read somewhere here - to make special threads where only VIPs could post and others could just read. But, in this way everyone could write if (s)he has relevant information - but is subject to very strict rules and scrutiny.
Yes, that would include a decent amount of job for moderators but this is implementable with existing forum technology/software

I didn't know/understand that because for me there is no warning I just can't login but cycle between two pages?! There are other tools than just AdBlock, you know, if you can't stand the ads. But I definitely don't like the fcbk integration and the increase of tracking. Luckily my browser is armed with powerful battery of extensions that keep privacy on a decent level

I'm most likely to go back to lurking only however.

Me too. I just get the whirling dervish in firefox w/ adblock. Had to use safari to log in. Now I have all the ads. My eyes! They burn! What extensions do you have?

I just noticed that the thread about the new login isn't locked. Maybe I should move this up there.

i'm using adblock with Safari and it works a charm (but i'm on a computer that i can keep myself logged in).

If you log yourself out you might have a problem, at least I've experienced it. I suspect the new login/sign-in box doesn't open if you use Adblock(it opened when i turned it off on a suggestion of Elagabalus). Maybe it's an unintentional bug(AdBlock blocks that box)?

Okay, i've tested - at the moment, you need to turn off the AdBlock while logging in but after that you can turn it back on while being logged in and there are no problems.

i had that problem on another site, actually. but, like you, i turned it off for log-in (and told it to remember me) and then happily turned it back on.

I remember when this link was posted. I was surprised by it but I am not sure that was the entire reason for RR to leave the forum (in my opinion). RaceRadio can speak for himself on this if he wants.

But also I think most here at the forum are not aware that RR's info (real life identity) was sold out a while back by a current forum member.
