I detect a Dutch dust up.
Mr. Lack-of-Nuance.:D
Anyhow, 85kms to go and the break looks to be...........well.........breaking.
Arrghh!!! Phil Liggett has turned up in the commentary box. Is Lance riding?
Martin Charlinguy.....

Lolz...
it's funny because the idea of Liggett interviewing someone in French on American T.V. is laughable...

I agree they have history, but those races with history that tend to end up in bunchsprints are totally not interesting like Paris - Brussel. Allthough they spiced up the last 15 km it was kinda fun to watch.

Anyways this race doesn't have history, but the circuit looks good and the lineup is also good. So to me it's a mustsee despite there is no history, maybe it's the start of a nice history ;)

I think this race does have some history....the course certainly does anyways. Olympics, worlds, world-cups....not 100 years or anything, but still...more than your average race outside of Europe.

What it sounds to me like what you are saying is that races on the "New Continent" do not matter. I find the smaller races in your benelux area far more interesting than the predictability of most of the classics and Le Tour. Just a comment from one of the provincials of the "New World"

I totally agree. I can also see why Eurosport doesn't.

I really enjoyed fridays race. The fact that the broadcast started at 8.30 in the evening was also refreshing. Make it a few hours later however and you won't get casual European cycling fans to watch.

There it is. Liggett drops a Lance into the commentary.
Even gave the Dwarf a mention.
Sad basterd. Thank Gawd, he's gone.
He also thought Sky were riding for Chris Sutton...

He also thinks Tjallingii is a neo-pro. Apparently old Maarten has to work on his palmares.

Is this race even progressing?

Kind of miss the 14 replays of the Astana guy crashing in Quebec. Basso's exit was also memorable....
See, that was it. I knew there was something that made Quebec more entertaining. One of the most beautifully filmed (and executed) crashes ever.

Liggett couldn't understand the pronunciation of the French Canadian commentators on the phone (he's not watching any feed). They all together, Liggett included, had several tries at the name. It sounded like they were saying "Julian Dean", etc.:D

Euskaltel attacks from the break...

edit: Gorka Insausti

REALLY EARLY
Izagirre. Insausti is the second surname so you can disregard it.

He's having a great season.

Up close and personal between those two.

I'm afraid it's another vote for Quebec, from me.
Now the Canadians don't even know that Leipheimer's least favourite position is first.
Horner, of course.
