Might just be better suited to being an elite mountain stage hunter and possibly KOM contender than trying to avoid the early bad days in Grand Tours that keep wrecking GC podium chances.
still idk. He's physically strong enough to do mental things. Especially in those ultra hard days..that when things align he could actually gc podium a Giro or Vuelta

A bad weather Giro with several Queen stage worthy stages maybe but the Vuelta with its abundance of rampas inhumanas and unipuerto hockey stick stages don’t really play to his qualities.

I tuned in to the live broadcast after they’d done the Tourmelet, so went back to watch that. I’m even more impressed by his solo win seeing that he initiated attacks that helped form the original breakaway right after Luz Saint-Sauver and then pulled for much of that first climb. Well done!

Arensman really rode like a tractor that plows and plows and plows today!

Fantastic Tour by Arensman!
1 win from a break (stage 14) and 1 win from the GC group (stage 19).
And he also made it as hard as possible for Simon Yates in stage 10.

I understand the enthusiasm for his riding, but it doesn’t make sense to say he mugged the GC guys today when they handed him the win on a platter.
apart from vingegaard and pogi he pretty much crushed the ot her "GC" guys today. Extreme level. People underestimate what he's done.

Ofc Pog could've won any day and Vinge as well. But they do not count.

Valid point. At the time I was just so frustrated that Vingegaard wouldn’t be more aggressive. I would rather Arensman take the win anyways.
