they are starting to take a turn for the ... average

I wonder if spouses who have been cheated on get more PO'd if the mistress is less attractive than the spouse who was cheated on....

Honestly, we all see much better looking each day. Hot bodies are a dime a dozen, but a truly beautiful face? Priceless.

I think he is intimidated by women by reading some of these texts. An interesting peephole into a usually guarded celeb's psyche.

And Elizabeth, yes, there are undoubtedly a whole other group of conquests who don't want their names to come out in all this whirlwind. They are the more decent of the indecent. Still capable of an ounce of shame.

Another theory: [perhaps we have an endocrinologist in the forum. ]

Hormones. If a male is stunted emotionally during his adolescent years: in this case, no life experiences that make one grow up are allowed to impact him other than competing in golf tournaments, do one's hormones normalize at the same rate as average males? In other words, by living in a world of suspended adolescence to the age of 33, does he still have the raging hormones, insecurities, emotional extremes as a teenager or has he physically become an adult? How do hormones react to events in one's life, if at all?

Thanks, I was losing sleep over whether or not you took me seriously!

But let's put it to a vote. Should I change my avatar?

Well, your username together with the avatar suggest some sort of fixation, maybe also a retentive personality type. If that's the image you'd like to project, then by all means, keep it.

Oh, for fcks sake.

Please don't let the tea sipping crowd muzzle your sense of humor. I think some here could take themselves a little less seriously.

Who brought Lance Armstrong into the equation? ... Oh yeah, silly me. For certain people, no discussion of cheating sportsmen would be complete without a reference to LA. Just saying ... yawn !

The gossip in the NY Post today is that he is admitting everything to the wifey and she has agreed to return home, on the condition that he set aside golfing for a while.....

WTF would he not golf? What's that got to do with any of this. If it is indeed true, then it is no wonder he was straying around on her.

Maybe most of the hookups were made while he was at "Golf Tournaments"?

I've done my best to keep my eyes away from this thread... but I am weak.

It is difficult enough to forgive a one time transgression - even with a most heartfelt apology; although it's made slightly easier if you tend to call your moment of wild abandon a transgression and then detach as a way to survive the hurt and pain inflicted upon others.

More difficult to endure would be the relentless media coverage of every single sexual conquest one has had outside of marriage, coupled with agents, sponsors, lawyers, and meddlesome family wanting to control the life of a person whose life has obviously spiraled out of control.

If I were Tiger, I'd be in hiding too - if only to gather my thoughts in solitude.

However, I'm not sure taking an indefinite hiatus from golf will make this situation better. Certainly won't improve his game. Golf should be his meditation. Dude just needs a new mantra, that's all. That, and a trip to see that doctor from The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. He's got a lot of relationships to purge...

Maybe they just want to stay together long enough for this to blow over in the press. Then they will get divorced.

The divorce, if or when it happens, will be big news nevertheless. Better to get it over with at once, I would say, instead of waiting a year or two and then going through the media hell once again.

I think the only thing which might keep Elin here are the children. You cannot move U.S. children out of the country without consent from the other parent. Otherwise, I'd think she might have been on her way to Sweden already.**

**(My wife once traveled to Europe with the children and I was to join them a week later. I drove her to the airport, then got a phone call on the way back. I had to return to the checkin counter and write a note that I'm fine with her taking the children out of the country).

Inclined to agree in that it is best to get the divorce over with. Hate to be a pessimist here, but divorce is imminent since they didn't have an "agreement or arrangement" as people of affluence sometimes do. Best to yank that band-aid off now, quickly, rather than pull it for 2-3 years and even more alimony.

I wholeheartedly agree. I speak from experience. Apologies are one thing; but lingering resentment and contempt are another - and that's not a healthy environment for a family to thrive.

Best to live as separate families and go from there.

I'm pretty tranquil about this. We've all been there ... either physically or mentally or both (differentiating is really splitting hairs ... morally it's all the same thing).

Let those who are without sin cast the first stone ...

Tiger's being stoned?;)

I don't think so in this case. Assuming he can get his wife to go along with it (for an increase in the prenup amount) it would be better to let things cool off for six months. This takes pressure off his sponsors to drop him, and that is worth paying his wife more money than he is contractually obligated to pay. News six months from now that they have divorced will blow over quickly.

The most important thing for him now is to cool the situation down. A break from golf and some supposed reconciliation time with his wife does that.

[quote/] Not only are Americans insanely hypocritical and uppity, but they also have short memories.

Couldn't agree more. "He who looks at another woman with lust has already committed adultery in his heart"
Typical christian bigotry. Deeming the mechanism, upon our survival as a species rests, as a SIN, tells a lot about a mind that must've been quite judgemental and unsound.
:)[/QUOTE]
Things are always about the idiot hypocrite Americans...so what is it in your DNA that makes you less apt to be a hypocrite? Looks like you have been living under religious oppression...Bigotry has nothing to do with Americans or Hypocrites...or Christianity for that sake. People do lots of misguided things for all sorts of reasons. I think its funny to read comments like this...not that you are being judgmental or anything...and your argument resonates with sound reasoning through and through.
You really should use better reasoning before you go whirling around making sweeping generalizations about entire groups of people. Hmmm, I am thinking of a guy....yeah, anyway. Cheers - Hate on my man!

Looks like we are headed for the clinic.

Hearing a lot of mentions today of a certain cyclist who tends to be very polarizing.

See new york times.
