I've seen him give rude interviews in the past. Sure, it has to do with being sour over bad luck, lack of winning when he could have, which happens to many, but it's mainly a character issue.

It's not a super hard climb, so I would expect 40-45 seconds, although if he's super it could only be only about 30 sec. or less.

I didn't say that, but only, in my view, since he has great form at the moment, Ganna could lose less time than people imagine. Since the climb isn't super hard more than a minute seems a bit much, but it depends on when and how he reacts to getting dropped. If it's early on the climb then you could be right, whereas if he is able to hold on the first half, wisely managing his effort, to then just tt to the line, it could be surprising.

I think he has about a 20 second lead on Ayusso, so, yeah, it could be close if and only if he has a super day. I'm not saying it will happen, but Ganna can be quite the fighter and his shape is really good, so who knows? Naturally his adversaries will try to put him under pressure from the bottom of the climb. They have no other choice and certainly Pippo will drop at some point. Depending on when that is and how much reserves he has, however, will determine how much time he loses. The consenus in Italy is either he will sit up if his legs aren't great and so no need to bury himself in light of MSR in a week; or he feels really good and will spit up his soul to try and save the maglia azzura.

In context... that is a day that likely decides the race.

I think the interviewer was kind of pushy with the "are you nervous", but I think he answered it well. That it is a tense day, but that it could be a good day for him... if he has a good day. A day the race is decided is of course the pinnacle for a rider like him, as he is also very well placed here. A position you would want to be in, if you are him.
