Wow, that was one of the more intensely fought intermediate sprints I have ever seen. Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanicalifragilisticexpialidocious got the one-two, Giannini ahead of Rodriguez, with Garzelli third, which puts Garzelli and Scarponi on the same time!

i wonder if it's at all possible for a breakaway to go away on this course...

peloton gallop will be.

why would androini only send 2 to compete for the sprint, surely they knew there's 3 2 1 on offer.

scarponi should get involved too imo, just sit on garzelli's wheel and try get past him. Poor defending.

really they could have sent multiple attacks in the coming kms to the sprints to avoid garzelli getting seconds, or send the whole team to fight for the sprint. poor effort.

So does Garzelli get the overall win now, regardless of how this stage ends? Obviously assuming that the real sprinters will sweep up the bonus seconds at the finish.

:D I am really glad garzelli has the lead, IMO he deserves to win this race.

me too, its great he won by such a small margin too - it's an extra hard slap in the face of scarponi :) scarponi invested his all in the stage win, and couldn't keep it up for the following stages.

Oh no! Cav just hit the deck! He's up and riding, but I doubt he'll catch back on with less than 8km to go and the peloton flying. I was looking forward to seeing him have a go in the sprint, I hope he can still start M-SR.

I guess he's taking his under the radar for MSR to a whole new level. Poor form, crashing.... no one will expect him now

that was weird, kinda seems like his bike's front wheel just failed.

I'm sure it was somebody else fault!!...It always is with that crybaby!

Sky seems to have nearly their entire squad at the front, but I think they have gone too early. I don't see EBH being able to beat out the likes of Bennati and Farrar and Boonen in a sprint, regardless.
