Hey, that's sprinting.
True that. We all remember Abdoujaparov :D the king of kamikaze sprinting. Compared to that, Hagen did a fair and correct sprint really

If you take Abdoupush-em-off as your yardstick then pretty much every single sprinter in the current peloton is a paragon of gentlemanly etiquette.

Aww poor Tyler :(

Anyone see the Rainbow Worrier try and ride away from the front for about 5 seconds then realise he was going nowhere?

.

You sure it was him, on top view It looked like Cadel was doing something weird. But i don't think it was him, might of been the italian jersey going for it.

I'm not certain, it just looked like his "style" and the way he sheepishly slid back into the pack after realising he was going nowhere.

If Graeme Brown were faster, he would do the same. Abdu could actually win sprints. When you are pushing and taking people out in 5th place, you are worse in my opinion.

Has Hagen been watching Graeme Brown instructional videos?

He was all over the road

No, Hagen actually wins the sprints he shoves people around in...

Great win by EBH, although I'd rather see him sprint in a straighter line. Anyhow, he was still the fastest today and I guess he's an even bigger favorite for MSR now.

As for the Sky leadout, it seems like they started too early (again), but it was still OK. The pull by Flecha was incredible, almost too strong.

Dodgy sprint, imho; Petacchi and Farrar didn't stand a chance. Shame, cause I don't think EBH needs Brown's if-I'm-the-last-one-standing-I-automatically-win tactics.

Me too, I doubt Garzelli will get another win as big as this - to think it was 10 years ago when he won the Giro - and dedicated his win to Pantani!

I'm amused by all of these "that's sprinting!" or "Farrar is a whiner" comments. I'd love to see how the posters would react is someone almost put them into the barriers @ 70 kph, potentially ending a precious season in a career which spans only a small number of years.

If that sprint wasn't over the line, it was really close. That was way more lateral motion than was called for. Edvald either needs to learn to ride in a straight line or else should begin choosing to doing so.

Nothing dodgy about it. They were more than half a bike-length behind each other. You can say a lot of things about EBH, but his eyes face forward like they do on most of us.
If there was indeed something dodgy here, rest assured there'd be official complaints. This was nothing like the Cav/Hushovd fight at last years' TdF.

Continue to be amused...Farrar whined...he has been doing it a little this year. And they are paid to mix it up in the sprints...if you don't got the balls get out of the way. Thats you...get out of the way!

I agree that EBHs sprint was a little rough but far from the worst exmples we've seen that have gone unsanctioned. At any rate I doubt it was deliberate on his part. It simply doesn't fit with how the guy is. We have to remember that he is still fairly new to bunch sprints with the absoluet best sprinters in the world and he's possbly still a little uneasy in the situation.

I didn't mean dodgy as in "he intentionally meant harm", but dodgy as in "he veered from his line and thus completely blocked the lines Farrar and Petacchi were taking". And there was an official complaint, I think I read somewhere.

I watched it both from motorcycle and from coptor shots. Looked like a clean acceleration by sky cervello liquidgas. I do not see anything dirty in the sprint.

Farrar doesn't know what danger is. I hear they are hiring at UPS. Good job for Farrar.

That's a non-argument, judging from the discussions about a certain sprint in the Tour of Turkey.

Care to elaborate what you mean by that?

Theo Bos vs Daryl Impey.

Although people who really believe Bos did that on purpose are out of their mind. And the only piece of video there is is of bad quality and from helicopter view.

You sure he's new to bunch sprinting? I watched it just now for the first time and I have to say he did an experienced looking job of being menacing without actually physically impeding anybody (which is what gets you relagated).
