Definetly no Tour of Suisse, april classics is not going to be that much of a goal this year and he said the world road race he won't go there with great form as he won't be there for the win. I do see your point and I am a little bit nervous about if he is going to be racing too much.''

Yes my pick does seem a little bit weird but i think gesink might come up with the goods!

I'm very happy with it tho :p

Just don't let isso hear you ;)

are there time bonuses for stage wins?

Sanchez, Rogers, and Nibali

In that order.

Which is sanchez doing paris nice or this?

Sorry, banging on about this. This makes it look like Sanchez and Sicard are riding the P-N. Anyway, I thought they weren't going to ask too much of Sicard at this stage: leading the Paris-Nice?

Thanks for the Euskatel link. In it was an interview with Sicard and I was surprised to see Ghent-Wevelgem, Flanders and Paris-Roubaix on his race schedule or at least mentioned as races that he may participate. I was under the impression that Sicard was more of a Ardennes classics, stage racing type of rider.

No, I meant picking Gesink over Evans... Seems weird for you.

Evans defintely can finish highly, he's defintely a candidate for victory. My omly concern with Evans is his schedule. He was already riding hard Down Under, he wants to do the April classics as well, then ride the Giro, and then the Tour. He might even be 'encouraged' by his team to ride in the Tour of Switzerland, where BMC will defintely be out in force. Then he wants to do everything to defend his WC jersey on home soil. I think Evans may be taking slightly too much on his plate this year, as talented as he is. He can't be good everywhere.

With the exception of the Tour, Evans' history over the years is that he's always up in competitive form in virtually every event he enters. He may not win often, he seems to always be in the top 20. He seems capable of maintaining a high level of form for a long period of time.

Well, per wacky UCI obligations Euskaltel has to send someone to Paris-Roubaix. Their reasoning may not go beyond "you're French, at least you know where Roubaix is!".

LOL! Could be. They're hoping he knows all the shortcuts back to the showers when they bail. Paris-Roubaix and Euskatel is not the best of mixes.

A. Schleck in form for more than 2/3 weeks a year? I really really REALLY doubt he'll do any more than finish in the autobus many minutes behind stage after stage.

agreed, schleck peaks, and the dips for the rest of the season. He probably would win this if he peaked for it.

Schleck is the man come the ardennes and le tour... then he pretty much sucks.

Well, I mentioned Pozzato as a possible winner some pages back without any takers, and his performance in today's Montepaschi stradi Bianchi kind of indicates he's in the ballpark, so: Can Pozzato be a contender for the Tirreno-Adriatico? His win in two-o'three is getting a bit long in the tooth today, but he seems to be getting in cracking form.
As an EBH-Sky-fan I'm really getting a bit worried about Pippo.

Hmmm... Samuel Sanchez seems indeed to be riding Paris-Nice, got bib 131. It defintely leaves Tirreno with a bit of a depleted field.

Anyway, my picks:

1. Nibali
2. Scarponi
3. Pozzato (didn't notice he was riding before, but I'll jump on the bandwagon all the same)
4. Gesink
5. Evans

In 2008 he finished 4th or 5th (I forgot which one) in the Olympic race ... and then again Contador didn't ride a single race after the Tour (except Criteriums), Armstrong and Sastre never do too much before or after the Tour either ...

But indeed Tirreno-Adriatico is way too flat for Andy to have any chance of winning it. He just needs to get his kilometers in.

An explosive guy will win this. But not Pozzato... I know he has won it before but there's 1 stage I'm doubting he'll be with the best.

I don't know how Evans form is?

Terrific. Just ask Auscyclefan.:D
Finished 56th out of 65, yesterday, because he's saving himself for the BMC Tour invite, that's lost in the post.

The course has a number of long stages short uphills finishes. There are strong enough teams not to let a break away go. Cat amongst the pigeons..cancellara.

It'd surprise me no end if EBH doesn't make top 10. Pozzato too.
