ChewbaccaD said:You need to read my statement more carefully because I didn't include people who don't dope. Past that, spying the motivation for someone like the riders we are discussing is not terribly difficult. If you want to believe in cupcakes and rainbows, be my guest, but I know better.
ChewbaccaD said:If you believe that people take a needle and inject themselves with substances that are not prescribed by a doctor for reasons that don't involve unhealthy pathological needs, you're a fool.
Berzin said:You don't know, you just think you do. I'll bet you don't know one person who dopes. You don't know the pipeline for access, you don't know how much the stuff costs or how these cats administer their PED's asdie from what you've read on the internet.
You don't know any of this first-hand, but you have full dossiers on the psychological profiles of all amateur dopers at your disposal. Well done, Dr. Freud.
A fool? Why? Because I don''t necessarily agree with your premise, one based on a groundless opinion and dared to challenge you on it?
Don't be so full of yourself. If you claim facts based on no data or clinical research whatsoever, it's called an opinion. Some are worthy of discussion, and others are just plain nonsensical. Like the poster who claimed blood transfusions can be done by individual riders in the privacy of their own home. Not one poster called him out on what has to be the most ridiculous and irresponsible statement I've yet to read on this forum.
Another doozy was when someone posted that clenbutarol should be followed up by copious amounts of coffee for added benefit before a race. Two drugs that raise heart rate levels should be taken together only to speed up the heart attack process, but no one batted an eye.
Now I know why Race Radio doesn't post anymore. He kept you guys on life support as one of the few posters with any type of inside knowledge, and now that he's gone you're left with nothing but the regurgitation of insinuendo as fact.

It doesn't take personal knowledge to discern that a person does not purposefully break the rules of competition they are obliged to abide by for healthy emotional reasons. It only takes someone as...um.......intellectually equal to you to surmise that.Berzin said:You don't know any of this first-hand, but you have full dossiers on the psychological profiles of all amateur dopers at your disposal. No, you're a fool because you believe in the preposterous proposition that people dope in competitive sports for healthy emotional reasons.Berzin said:A fool? Why? Because I don''t necessarily agree with your premise, one based on a groundless opinion and dared to challenge you on it?

BroDeal said:I am glad the forum overlord has such faith in this place. It gives me a warm feeling to know that shoddy moderation had nothing to do with this place going down the crapper. Nope. It was someone claiming that blood transfusions can be one at home, not that someone like Armstrong would ever store blood at home or anything.

Kicker661 said:I enjoy reading this section but one thing the clinic posters fail with is exactly what you said in that first paragraph.
If you haven't been around dopers in general sports or more specifically dopers in cycling then you will most likely be WAY off base with what you think goes down in real life.
I can add some insight but i don't post because someone who has no idea and no experience at all will want to argue with what is really going on.
