Can't say I recall USADA being there, or a dope test notification being put up for random controls.Oldman said:About time although I didn't notice much testing in Bend. There could be more positives based on some of the performances there.
Bertie said:I think they tested every winner in Bend

nslckevin said:This is the kind of **** that I hate. People did really good, therefore they must be doping. What a load of crap. Do you know ANYTHING about the guys or gals who did "really well"??? Do you know how much they train? Do you know how hard they trained? Did he or she sandbag in age group races all year or race P/1/2 a lot to make themselves stronger?
Are their masters racers who dope? I'm sure there are. But the fact that they might have beat you is not definitive proof of doping.

spetsa said:Yeah I do. One was named Nicholas Brandt-Sorenson and he got busted for PEDs. Seemed to have gotten a bit quicker this past season than those previous. Believe me, it is a hell of a lot harder to win the 30-34 RR at Masters Nats than to finish Redlands in last place.

nslckevin said:I am certainly not going to defend this guy, but you are going to pull out results from the spring of 2008 to prove he's doping in 2011? Seriously?
spetsa said:No, his failed drug test in Bend was the proof that he was doping in 2011.![]()

nslckevin said:Would you care to call out those performances? Or at least which races you are refering to? Or are you just going to sit behind your screen name and throw out baseless accusations?

2011 National TT and RR champion in 50-54

You sound as though you take this doping thing pretty close to heart. Does the number 187 send shivers up the spine.
As your yellow banded bretheren used to like to say, "we like our credibility".
ICanTearYourLegsOff said:Amgen Masters? You're probably thinking AMD-Discovery Channel Masters. I don't think Kev was ever on Amgen.
spetsa said:You are correct. I was mistaken. Doesn't change my thoughts much however.

DirtyWorks said:You refuse to acknowledge the simple observation that dopers are notoriously peaky. Spectacular results at important events, then... right back into the local pack fodder. Clean riders tend to have very consistent results over time.
nslckevin said:Amgen Masters? Why do you mention that? I have never raced for that team. The only association I have with that team is getting my *** kicked by Thurlow at nationals most years.
Team Specialized Masters. Yes, you got me. I do ride for Team Specialized Masters. Care to fill in the details as to why you brought that up?
I had to google 187. Good one. Hate to break it to you, but you won't find me on the Papp list.
Here's the deal. I took offense to Oldman (or whoever it was) insinuating that many who performed well at masters nationals were on dope and just hadn’t been caught yet. I performed well at nationals so I took offense to his slander. I was in fact, tested twice but have not received the results yet. I worked my *** off this year and I raced below my age all year long. After doing a few P/1/2 road races, racing against a bunch of 50 year olds doesn’t seem so hard.
Now I’m taking offense to your anonymous slander. What reason do you have to call me a doper? And why don’t you grow a pair and put your real name behind your allegations.
Kevin Metcalfe
spetsa said:I never called you a doper. Nobody ever slandered you. You sound paranoid though. For your sake, I hope you did work your but off and that you have a great time racing your bike with obvious success. It probably makes you feel pretty good actually knowing that you most likely beat some guys on PEDs. I would however bet that you also know guys who dope whether you want to believe it or not.
nslckevin said:...but getting my panties all in a bunch about it is a waste of my time.
