Meh, I'd rather have him ride Poland, Olympics and the Vuelta, let Barguil be the team leader for the Tour and then you have him and Ten Dam working for Dumoulin at the Vuelta.

With all these crashes at the Tour, you'd think that would be enough reason to skip this race. Most certainly after his 2015 experience.
Many people believe Tony Martin lost his gold medal in 2012 because of his TDF injury.

I totally disagree with him that stages longer than 200km are longer needed in GT's. The Giro this year showed once again the value of a long tough stage, a stage of attrition.
I totally dig short stages as well, but not at the cost of long stages.
Exactly. I found the last stage of the TdS quite refreshing at 57km. Just make sure distance is also balanced out.Kwibus said:Red Rick said:Naturally it should be a mixture of both, but the length has to have a purpose. I'm totally opposed to the Tour 140km queen stages for years now.
The short mountain stages add a lot of spice and certainly have their value. The tdf keeps on forgetting to add a long 220-240km mountain stage in the mix though.
