Tony Martin has thrown down the gautlet to the peleton for the 2012 Tour.:D:D
He says that his big goal remains London, but isn't going to the Tour to lose time either. He'll fight as good as he can for the GC.

By the sounds things he could have a 3 minute advantage on the nxt got going GC after the timetrials ( which would probably be Wiggans) and I'm positive he will lose more than 3 mintues to Wiggans on the mountains and that's not even talking about the other contenders.

Maybe...maybe not.

Depends on how many contenders fall and knock themselves out...get hurt...run into cars...potholes...dogs....get drug tested.;)

Preguntado por quiénes pueden ser sus rivales más peligrosos en Tour 2012, teniendo en cuenta las etapas presentadas, el australiano señala "Tony Martin, Bradley Wiggins y Levi Leipheimer estarán ahí para la victoria".

also lol at the answer about contador, big mistake.don't pisz him off cadel, stage 7 stage 7.

Has Cadel gone totaly cookoo? To write off Contador because he didnt win this year. I can understand saying you dont expect him to be there, but to say he expects the likes of Wiggins and Martin to beat Contador because Contador didnt win this year, geez Cadel.

As I recall the last person to ignore Contador when listing favourites was Andy, overjoyed at the fact that Contador wouldnt be there.
Contador ended up costing him the race.

Don't worry, he'll crush Cadel next year at Tirreno-Adriatico already if not banned and with it all his hopes for a second Tour win :)

I think ACF has gotten a job as PR man for Cadel. Delusional and a bit cocky to write Contador off. I truly am looking forward to the Tour now with hopes of Contador ripping Johann, Andy and Cadel new ones and bringing them all back to reality.

What did Andy and Brunyeel say?

Am I the only one who finds it odd that people hype Froome and Velits for next year's Tour based on the TT milage, despite the fact that both of them have only done one world class time trial in their entire careers?

Not that odd when you consider that the last time Froome raced a GT before he came 2nd at the Vuelta, he was disqualified for hanging on to a motorbike after being dropped on the first climb of the day on the Aprica stage in 2010.

If he can improve at that kind of rate, he's a threat to win anything. And we know Sky will be strong, especially since the route means they can bring plenty of rouleurs for both Cav and Froome/Wiggins. Their biggest problem might be if they have too many chiefs and not enough Indians. How Velits does is more of a crapshoot since he's at a different team, and how he gels with them will be a key factor (especially if Leipheimer is in good shape at the time as well).

libertine do you still have nightmares with froome motoring pena cabarga? :p

the hype is normal because they did incredible things(who can forget that itt by velits and the whole froomy's vuelta)?i'm sure both of them will have a succesful tour, froome especially
