Ridiculous by Ganna! Massive pull to catch up NZ and then world record.

PS: Now that there's also a thread in track cycling I'm losing track of where to post, ha

Incredible ride from the kiwis but Ganna is an absolute monster. Denmark streaking ahead of GB now, probably going to get a new WR, while GB out of the medals if it continues like this.

And the Danes seemingly didn't have the 4th rider out there still to finish. Crazy stuff if GB goes through as they were nowhere with their weakened team.

I don't know the rules, who should have done what? And what happens now?
I have no idea what happens now but the mistake was basically the Danish lead didn't go wider and overtake the third GB rider and rode into the back of him while not looking. Had he not, the race would've finishes.

The only excuse for the Danes: You don't expect someone from team GB to be out on the track, below the blue line, riding at a snail's pace.

It's a nailbiting situation now for the Danes: if team GB finished (did they?), there is actually no reason not to select team GB for the finale. That would mean Denmark is out.

Yeah, it was Madsen's mistake, his teammates who were riding behind him went wide to overtake the British rider.

Well, if one team catches a team the race is won, isn't it?

3.2.081 A team is caught when the opposing team (at least 3 riders riding together) arrives at or within a distance of one metre of it.

Would that apply here?

I guess that's what the commissaires are trying to decide right now. Usually the lapped team hasn't lost its rider when it happens.
