[I'm going to copy paste this for future use.]

Mountains and TTs go hand-in-hand. It's not about the TTs themselves. If climbers lose time to TTlists on the TTs, they will be forced to attack more and from farther away than if they are not threatened.

This. The TTs will make the mountains even more epic as some of the climbers will have to risk it all early on in the stage

Yeah, sure, buddy. Just like the elimination of time bonifications forced the climbers to attack to gain time. Oops, that failed miserably.

You are comparing apples with oranges.

Baraque de Fraiture is a pretty cool finish IMO :) Looking forward to it! Obviously no snow will be there in July haha.

I used to call it Baraque de Friture when I was a kid lol.

Without bonifications there is an actual possibility that a rider might try to sprint ahead before the line to gain a couple of seconds. With a crap parcourse, barring the possibility that 80% of the contenders crash out in the first week leaving plodders with weak teams (like Evans), the chance that a contender will risk all by trying to escape on the early climbs of a stage is about nil. I guess they really are different.

Some odd quotes from AC

"It will be a race in which you have to attack, which is not a bad thing. It will all be decided in the mountains.

"This is a course that favors the winner of last year, Cadel Evans," said Contador.

"I like the route, but of course it is not the best for me maybe it is better for Cadel Evans, it is more for the riders that go very strong in the time trials and for me maybe I need to attack before the time trials."

what's odd about that? let's translate: "since i'll hardly lose any time to cadel in TTs, it's up to me to drop him in the mountains. which is nice."

pretty much

contador never puts himself up as the top contender he should be pretty happy about this route. enough time trial to keep the only climber that rivals him away and just enough mountains to drop the time trialist who rival him.

still a pretty bad route tho <_<

http://www.cyclismactu.net/news-2012-bruyneel-andy-sur-le-giro-pourquoi-pas-20083.html#ixzz1bDMGIr98

bruyneel says that andy might go in il giro, they still need to talk about the plans

that would be a wise decision but i can't see it happening.
papi horner leader of radioshack in le tour!haha awesome

Esp Schleck will have to repeat what he did on stage he won again + more. The Schack will have the strongest team and will also be the team that needs to attack early. That will make it awesome. If it was Cadel og Bertie who had the strongest team I might agree with u, but since its the other way around I can more or less guarentee that we will see serious attacks before the final climb during the Tour.

SBS and BMC wont be strong enough to control a race in a US Postal manner. SKY wont be able to hold it together either since half of the team or more will be build around Cav (poor Wiggins).

You cant really compare that to the removal of the MTF time bonus.

He said the same about Michele Scarponi at the Giro this year. He destroyed him with 7 minutes.

Meh, it's standard pro athlete talk. He isn't really saying anything.

He and Riis have started the mental war though. On 2 fronts Putting pressure on Evans and letting Andy know he has dropped down the order for now.
