Wow... Gilbert is in the breakaway. He's clearly very ambitious. Hope that when the break gets caught he can cling on.

Is Menchov sick/injured, or he CBF?

I imagine he's still sick. He blew off going to a Rabo training stage in the Sierra Nevada last week with some of the other confirmed Rabo Tour starters (Gesink, Garate & Ten Dam) because he wasn't feeling good. Rabo decided to start him here... But with little effect apparantly.

I want to see a Flanders Hills time trial in the Tour of Belgium!
What about Wolvenberg - Mater - Molenberg - Haaghoek - Leberg - Berendries?

Hmm... Despite Skil, Rabo Quick-Step and Vacansoleil all pulling on the peloton, the break isn't really being reeled in. This one might go all the way.

Gilbert'll pretty much have the overall victory wrapped up in that case.

If the break doesn't play games they'll stay away.

Gilbert trying to go solo with 3 km to go. Could backfire, this.

Gilbert... Brilliant as usual.

Only 15 secs or so on the peloton. He's taken a major option on the overall, that's for sure. Wouldn't bet against him now.

The stage was reasonable, but did they really have to show everything after the race before switching to the Giro?

FFS. :(

A perfectly flat stage and yet no sprint. So good !

And still running ... agaiiiiiiinst the wind, agaiiiiinst the wind, agaiiiiinst the wind, agaiiiiinst the wind ...

Good illustration of what Johan De Muynck (last Belgian winner of the Giro said) said: "I learned to climb in the Meetjesland, hard riding against the wind." :p

By the way, good friend, Honorez from Lotto Bodysol, was still second in the peloton in Devolder's wheel with 21km to go. Could see from the heli. :)

As usual, I have a list of riders of whom I hope they'll win, and have one name of whom I hope he will not win. :p

Will win: Devolder, Gilbert.
Will not win: Menchov.
