Not even a big fan of AC, As a Gesink Fan I should be claiming such riders will be challenging AC, But I am realistic.

Conta is only 28.

Yeah but the great thing about AC is I could see him eventually ignoring the TdF. He may end up retiring early, but not until he gets the Giro-Tour double. I think after this he thinks (no, knows) it is a definite possibility.

If CAS so decides he will be 31 when he next time gets off the start ramp in a Tour de France.

He should do the Tour-Vuelta double first in my opinion.

When Cadel is on the podium, wonder if Phil or Paul will say he is in a Shleck sandwich again. They have said it 2 or 3 times now when Cadel was positioned near them up hills.:D

Was really hoping that Tommy V or AC could make the podium...just to make it really funny

Least deserving guy on the podium is F. Schleck. He basically ended up there by default since he got towed up the last two days in the Alpes while everyone chased Andy. Raced what, 2 kms in the Pyrenees for 20 seconds? Other than that just sat in the wheels.

Actually he'll be at the start of the Vuelta 2012 then. They're not going to ban him for 3 years idiot.

You mean how ACF always complained about those dirty Spaniards and said things like Cuddles didn't win because only he is clean? Yeah ok, you're getting what's coming to you.

dont get what you are talking about, talking about those who wrote on this thread that cuddles was obviously doping. And i said in this subforum. Im fine if they posted it in the clinic. that was what i meant.

If you only you guys and girls could see the way my flatmate was jumping up and down when Cadel crossed the finish line, it was pretty funny.

But yes, congrats to Cadel, looks like it will be a public holiday now :D

It's too bad Aldo Sassi is not alive to see this. Cadel made some nice comments about him in the interview with Eurosport.

We are in agreement on the tough part. But of all of the current contenders, he seems the best positioned to pull it off. We'll see where this goes, but his next battle is with CAS.

Cadel Evans what a champion

I hope he enters la vuelta and annihilate everyone else eddy merckx style!!!:p

but seriously there are a few hill top finish we could suit him. And now we all know cadel can hang in there on the high mountains.

I remember Ryo telling ACF he will cut of his privates if cadel won le tour, where is he now:p

Except for one day in the Alps, Evans had no problem staying with the Schlecks. And that one day was more the result of tactics than Andy proving some huge climbing superiority over Cadel (not to say that Andy isn't a great climber). Given Cadel's ITT and descending superiority, beating the bros was pretty much inevitable. I also think that Evans knows that a rested, uninjured Contador is unbeatable in a GT, and given his age, that this was his best and maybe last chance to win the Tour--that he did everything right and nothing went wrong--that for once he didn't have horrible luck--it's just a beautiful thing.

Under the department of most useless rides, file Leipheimer's ride to Alpe d'Huez. Who the heck cares if you finish 2:something back or 10: back when you've lost tens of minutes? He didn't seriously think he could win that stage, right? Then he goes out today and rides a horrible TT. Useless.

Garmin has had a great tour. You shouldn't use it to take a shot at Levi. He still had to try something in what has been another poor GT. He could have sand bagged it on the Alpe and if he came good in the TT (unlikely) you'd still be at him.
