Happened every GT. It's just getting more focus this year.

I'm not sure about that, I don't remember AC having a lot of mechanicals and/or crashes in the past years. To me that's the biggest indicator he might be a bit tired after the Giro, he's usually an incredibly alert rider who doesn't get caught out but tiredness can take the edge out of even the greatest athletes.

I think the main reason that many people on this forum is anti-Cadel is because of the over-the-top fans of Evans.

replace any name with Cadel and Evans but a very good point

I mean take that conversation elsewhere. Seriously, I like Cuddles but this is getting freaking ridiculous (it has NOTHING to do with this stage).

Versus doing a Contador folly section. The crashes of Contador. They're loving it.

then just shut up, nobody asks you to defend him, neither does evans.

answer me this, if evans was not australian would you still be fan of him? don't answer to me but to yourself.

?? I was just trying to explain to sportzchick that it would be wrong by BMC to ramp up the pace when AC crashed.

I can say I would as ive had plenty of practic in sports where there is no Aussies - if someone is going to bag my favorite in any sport I will defend them...it that makes me over the top then so be it

He's only been in one crash that he caused (the one that just occurred). All of the other incidents were unavoidable. But I do agree the number of incidents have risen compared to previous GTs, which very well could be proof of his fatigue.

Going to have to agree with this. While I love this forum there are absurd over the top fans and haters for the majority of the high caliber riders (Evans/Contador/Schlecklet/Cancellara etc). It's not something particularly against Evans in any way, the conversation just happened to center on Evans in this thread so the fans and haters came out, if it had been about AC or AS the same would've happened.

How about we forget about this discussion and focus on the potential of today's stage we got a very high caliber lead group fighting hard to stay away, isn't that a much better subject then whether or not Evans is a wheelsucker or a good/bad person?

On that subject, I'm a bit worried about the presence of LL Sanchez in the break, while Tommy V is a lot closer in the GC Sanchez is a top 10-15 rider and he's only 3+ minutes behind, I doubt they'll want to give him to much time.

Seriously people...

There will probably be a few strikes to get handed out, given we managed to end up back where we were, but I will have to go back over it.

Next person to discuss Evans not related to today's stage and TdF will receive harsher punishments.

True, but ive noticed the two of you are real easy to bait. If you sometimes just let people get away with some of the accusations against Evans I bet the hate will cool down pretty fast. And at least the two of you show some knowledge of cycling ;)

Apologies. The Cuddles retrospective has been going on quite a bit today, but I re-read your post and I shouldn't have responded that way.

I didnt really care about the threads about the water evans sprayed. Yes we are all season long cycling fans, supporting BMC from the tour down under to lombardy. never stopping!:D
