An uphill time trial on Mont Ventoux would be epic and reasonable considering the GC battle.

Uphill time trial will be Superbagnere.
According to the all mentioned rumours, it won't even feature in the route. Unless you have some exclusive info.
Nevertheless, it sure would be thrilling.

Simply make Ventoux a mtt, take the long tt to the first week and maybe add another short one as the final stage. It ain't that hard Monsieur Prudhomme!

LOL - that is like getting hit in the head with a old, rotten & smelling fish.

Please take that "journalist" credentials away on the spot!

There is absolutely no way that there will be a Tour de France stage of 270km this year. Maximum allowed under UCI rules is 240km. I could maybe believe they would go over it by 10km, but not 270km.

In fact, I would bet a lot of money on it.

It's a new try-out were riders have to catch the train along the way for a 100 km shortcut.

That's the spirit of the past times.

Judging by the rumours, the route won't look bad. The first week's difficulties should be positioning and maybe the weather. Nothing to be afraid of in advance.
The Alps look more promising than in the previous years, I'd say.

20th stage will finish on Ballon d'Alsace.
No, really!?

Wow! That's super, super, super cool!!!

Maybe they learned from this years Vuelta? If the race ain't decided yet, the Vosges are perfect to turn thing around with a long range attack. Especially with bad weather or brutal heat.

Also it forces the riders to attack earlier in the race and requires them to do the same later on. If the race is already decided, it's gonna be a breakaway stage. But that would be the same in the high mountains or if the Vosges were in the first week.

There will be no stages in Alsace (again, Sporza article is sh*t).

Thomas confirmed a stage finish on Lac de Payolle.

4 days in the Pyrenees, one Jura and 5 in the Alps (including Ventoux)?
In this case we will have a lot of one climb stages, or weak mountain stages. Payolle, Revel, Ventoux and maybe Culoz I guess will have one climb. From Payolle all we can hope is that we will have a downhill from Aspin/HA.

imo there's nothing wrong with a one climb stage, as long as that one climb is only followed by a technical descent to the finish.
