Don't get me wrong Bodnars pretty impressive but the fact he can maintain this gap over a rotating peloton with fresh riders shows how influential the red car and motorbikes are ...

I disagree. It is all Bodnar and his incredible raw power.
He's reminds me of T Martin.

Why? If they don't catch Bodnar there is a 100% chance they won't win. It's not inconceivable that Kittel's leadout or positioning goes wrong.

Degenkolb had more than enough time to get back. Contador's GC isn't really that important anymore and with the help of Pantano and some drafting it was no issue to come back.
