Cunning Sky, putting the break so far up the road that the guys from other teams won't be of use to challengers.

Hardly cunning, all they have to do is drop back.
Nooo.... because then Bardet couldnt win!

Ha. Something about this forum layout makes me reply to the wrong post...

Looks like Froomedawg will join this illustrious list unless he wins the TT later in the week, with the break at 8 minutes.

He's not won a stage but neither has he been dropped the entire tour unless you count the 250m steep incline finish. The route did not lend itself to big time gaps or attacking close to mountain tops. Still think Froome could finish best of the GC contenders today.

Uran says he is trying to protect podium as opposed to going for the win. Yawn.

Heard that too. Sad. No shock coming from Talansky though. Pretty much how all the American riders are save for the the unspoken one.

Pretty early to say but someone from the break could very well win. That person will need to hide their strength well, however.

Surely Bora are chasing a stage win. There's no way they're defending 15th place. Right? Right?

For some, replace 2006 with 2010

Is Bora seriously riding for Buchmanns 15the place?

Think it's rather because they don't have a rider up front and have to do something to not look silly. At least I hope so.

Interesting that this list only contains some of the lesser TDF winners (and yes, I saw Greg LeMond! He is one of them, IMO). I wouldn't mind seeing Froome in there.

They are looking pretty silly right now

I can't tell which people are being sarcastic with the Bora "defending a place" and which are genuinely upset at Bora.

Too many descent finishes have been detrimental to the racing so far. Too many stages where the riders are scared to dig too deep when there's still 20km to go.

This cycling marathon advert is doing my head in, at least we don't have to deal with that silly tour of Turkey jingle anymore

Well in theory he could also win the TT on stage 20. Dumoulin isn't riding the tour, Tony Martin's shape doesn't look very strong, and Thomas has crashed out. I wouldn't say Froome is the favorite but I think he has a chance.
