I think if they DQs him it will be the last stage of Sagan on the Tour.

The first DQ was the mistake and they probably just close one eye now to make it draw.
He has zero shot at green now imo barring injury so might as well

Bennett now something like 68 points clear of Sagan?

Some of the mountain stages to come have the intermediate sprint before the climbs too, so Sagan may not be able to hoover those up away from Bennett.

I mean relegate Sagan, sure, I'm all for cleaning up sprints. But he was doing the same thing Ackerman did two days ago at Tirreno. Wout drifted slightly left, while Gaviria held his line. At those speeds I'd argue what Wout did, while clearly less egregious, was more dangerous, and Sagan's shoulder barge, at the time he did it, was the only alternative to crashing. The really dangerous thing Sagan did was choosing that line to begin with.

So really I would all three of them to be punished with relegation. But for now I'd punish them all with a bit less than that while sprinters adjust to never taking the barrier line and never deviating against the barriers.

Sagan sprints more reckless than any sprinter in the peloton, maybe apart from Bouhanni. There are many examples and you asking for one shows that you for some reason have not noticed this behaviour from Sagan in sprints before which is hard for me to understand...

I don't think he is particularly "dirty", compared to the other top sprinters, they all push and shove in the last 500...... he's just the one all eyes go to, all the time, because he is Sagan :)

I called for DSQ of Bennett the other day, and would call for DSQ of Sagan. He used his shoulder but also his head, and he did so against the cleanest sprinter of the peloton.

WvA could easily have closed the door for Sagan but he is too nice. If this doesn't lead to any fine or DSQ, you convert yet another clean sprinter into a dirty one.

And from WvA's interview, he said a four-letter word and Sagain said the same thing back like he didn't feel any remorse.
To be fair to Sagan it's probably one of 7 words of English he knows

I’ve never really thought about this before but does relegation also cost the rider points earned at intermediates? I assume not?

Seriously? There's a line there. From the start of his sprint until he gets the stomp, WVA maybe moves 20 cm left and 20 cm right. You can't sprint much more in a straight line than that. Sagan speculated on a gap opening up. The gap was too tight - OK, then that's bad luck and you try another day.

Exactly, it's hard to find any sprinter who sprints more in a straight line than WvA.

More like because he is without lead out and has to fight for position. He’s also quite often at the receiving end of shoulders, but that’s the game.
