Looks like he is still in the group coming into the last climb
He came back on the descent. He was dropped on the Biche.
Looks like he is still in the group coming into the last climb
Also guys like Basso and Menchov were on their last legs. Essentially every GC contender from the 2000s was gone. 2011/12 was the end of the old wild west.Sanchez was declining hard, Valverde just came back, Kloden was declining... it was the PERFECT storm for Wiggo. There literally were no one outside of Nibz who wasn't all that great. So yeah. Horrible Tour with a horrible level, horrible route, horrible everything.
2012 was also a route issue. They barely did any climb over 6% and had an ungodly amount of ITTs
Really hard to balance 110km of ITTs these days, I think 80 is about the max.I don't mind 100+ kms of ITT, but in hindsight one of those long ITT's could have included some climbing.
And add a third stage in the Alps, a proper queen stage, and suddenly it's all okay.
Worst week ever for us.Terrible time for a puncture, Guillaume.
I fear he's going to pay for that effort though.Martin almost there...
For sure, he is going to pay it later...I fear he's going to pay for that effort though.
