Now sprinters breaking away is a really fun and unusual behaviour. It's quite rare, I remember Degenkolb (yes!) attacking in Paris-Tours but in a GT stage I don't really recall

Is the break really going to bring Sam Bennet to the line? Must be Christmas fro Quickstep.
Sagan surely has a better probability of winning from the break against Bennett than from another bunch sprint. Same is probably true forTrentin, Mezgec or Stuyven. So why wouldn't they ride?

Wasn't that MSR into a headwind up the Poggio?

In fairness, Bennett has never survived the Poggio in MSR. But also, endurance after 6.5 hours in the saddle is different to endurance after 3 weeks in the saddle.
Yeah it was a 6.15 or something by Nibali. And Ewan, being as short as he is, should benefit the most from headwinds there.
