Amazing time from Van Aert. The biggest favourite for the Olympic TT in my opinion.

For what's worth, bookmakers think Van Aert is a rather strong favorite to win the stage right now.

You'd think winning the Ventoux stage and a TT in the same Tour is a rare feat, but if it happens it's actually the second time in the past three Tours that featured the Ventoux.

Why should he have though? Maximized the outcome for Bora and himself. Also atop form Buchmann could not have done better in my opinion.

Wasn't a criticism. Was a legitimate question. I didn't see him once attack and was curious if I had missed. No shame in riding that way. Probably on limit most days.

I fear for the day when DQT figures out the climbing formula. Because they have certainly nailed sprinting, classics and time trialing.

I still have a problem with both Kelderman and Mas. I prefer someone like G Martin. But of course you are in a more difficult place if you are Keldermas. Martin at one point has no other option than to attack, while Keldermas can always hold on to a 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th place by just being there, so they decide to just be there because they have something to lose... :confused_old:
I can understand it, but it really doesn't make my heart beat.

But that was also the overall winner, so much less of surprise.

Merckx also did it. I guess you could include JFB because Ventoux was TT that year.

Vingegaard has a great 1st check, he's 3rd overall (will probably be 4th in 2 minutes).

What a huge result actually for O'Connor. Would have never thought he is able of that.
A shame he suffered so badly due to the heat on Ventoux, if not the podium battle might have been more exciting and he probably won't have another shot at it tbf.
