Break has this now for sure. No idea what actually happens there. Did he panic seeing Gilbert going straight or something?

The break’s chances depends on how the peloton does the cat 3. (But I don’t think the break has it.)

What did I just watch with the team cars? Caleb getting help by Alpecin car and Alpecin getting charged for it?

You are disenfranchising one type of bike rider - Not every rider is Wout Van Aert - Then you wont have the story of Mark Cavendish.
You have this the wrong way round. Flat sprint stages disenfranchise everyone who isn't a sprinter when you have a wider array of riders who can win every other stage that isn't a TT. And TTs serve a purpose for GCs.

Also, Cavendish doesn't deserve to break Merckx' record.

Only good climbers can win a mountain stage lol
Sprinting is part of cycling, it's that simple. 9 sprint stages is dumb tho, but so are 3. Riders also need easier stages. Do you really think everyone in the peloton is happy is every stage is hard?

Grand Tours should be a mix of all terrains and some TT. Flat/flat(ish) sprint stages have their place. There should be a reasonable number of them. They're a spectacle and crowds love them.

Why are you guys so sure the break has this? I don't think so
Because of the size and composition of the break, and the parcours still to come for the pure sprinters and their teams.
Having said that, the peloton are doing a better job of pegging things than I thought they would, so you never know.
Now the Ewan crash just tips things even more in favour of the break, but that's balanced out by the Steppers now getting involved I suppose.

How bad is Sagan btw? Being dropped on this stage. He'll come back probably because the whole Lotto team will try to get Ewan back but still
