It was a double witching situation #13 was 13th overall. He should have stayed in bed.

Those are big words from someone who's not one of the 2-3 UAE riders who've actually turned up for the race.Ha, Mikkel Bjerg is not impressed by Roglic' withdrawal:
"I heard he is out because of a crash 10 days ago. Sounds strange. It seems like they think the yellow jersey has been won already. Good for them. Yesterday, he rode on the front on a category 3 climb and reduced the peloton to 20 guys. Then you're not doing that badly."
That's what I think as well. The peloton was only a minute back from the protesters. A hard stop by the peloton could have caused the crash.
Unfortunate for Kruijswijk. At least a broken collarbone is a valid reason to abandon for a teammate of the yellow jersey unlike being selfish and having your own ambitions later in te season

If the peloton suddenly had to slow down, it could be the cause of a crash in the last part of the peloton. Do you have confirmation that it happened before the peloton had to slow down?
Ewan only got held up by the crash this time. His luck could be turning.
Bjerg was nowhere to be seen when he could've actually been useful, barely better than Hirschi most of the time. He's been pulling quite a lot on the flat. Despite his name, he's not actually a climber.
With the previous race sabotage, the peloton was stopped before they reached the saboteurs.I think it was 30 seconds after the front duo rode past the protesters and they had a two minute lead.
Vingegaard and Benoot down now...
