Ha, Mikkel Bjerg is not impressed by Roglic' withdrawal:

"I heard he is out because of a crash 10 days ago. Sounds strange. It seems like they think the yellow jersey has been won already. Good for them. Yesterday, he rode on the front on a category 3 climb and reduced the peloton to 20 guys. Then you're not doing that badly."

Unfortunate for Kruijswijk. At least a broken collarbone is a valid reason to abandon for a teammate of the yellow jersey unlike being selfish and having your own ambitions later in te season

He's had back pains. We've seen how bad it can go if a rider continues despite back pains.

If the peloton suddenly had to slow down, it could be the cause of a crash in the last part of the peloton. Do you have confirmation that it happened before the peloton had to slow down?

I think it was 30 seconds after the front duo rode past the protesters and they had a two minute lead.

Vingegaard has now lost the two teammates who were most likely to take him down in a crash, so he has nothing to worry about anymore.

Joke aside, Kruijswijk isn't the most fortunate rider, but hopefully he'll be back at a high level again soon.

This is the complete road stage equivalent for Jumbo of the Rasmussen time trial. It's an absolute disaster for them and they will be absolutely desperate for this to be minor and thanking their lucky stars for the impending rest day.
