Which he can still go for... plenty of wheels behind that Bardet can follow. Hamilton for instance not far behind.

Is it not great that Leknessund gets a chance here? Instead of helping Bardet for a 8-9th place on GC?
Yes, exactly, every other DSM rider is behind Bardet, and Leknessund has gotten the chance for nothing other than the honour to be the last man caught so he doesn't lose much out of it either.

And now he can wait... once caught to help Bardet.

A stage-win would have meant a lot and Leknessund seems to have one of his best days in his career. Why not give him a chance to go for the stage? He was doing really well.

Instead of defending a 9th place on GC... Bardet wasnt alone.
