Pogacar may have pushed if Vingegaard had fallen but he had everything to gain by doing so. Vingegaard had a two minute lead and there was no reason for him to take risks, and having a wheel to follow on that descent was a good idea.
Not saying it wasn't great sportsmanship too but hey.
yep, it wasn't likes for likes..
Would Pogacar have waited for Vingegard if he crashed I doubt it.. though' do I want Pogacar to wait.. nahh not really with the situation in mind.
I know it's yellow jersey, & unwritten rules, and all that jazz.,
but this was mano o' mano and trying to downhill-challenge Jonas and getting people out there where they ain't comfortable, and that certainly also a skill in TdF.
No doubt it was a class act from Vingegaard, showing the champ Pogacar respect and waiting for him and letting the legs set the norm on Huatacam.. beautiful ride from Jonas Vingegaard today definitely looks to be the right winner of a very hard & hot TdF2022 and Jumbo Vista was also spectacular strong today with Kuss and Van Aert being second to none, when it comes to helpers.
