13 seconds isn't much but stages like this one is where they should be gaining time on Pogacar instead of losing. Because let's be real, they don't stand a chance against him mano a mano in the mountains.

WVA crashed and ran into a car when it touched its brakes and still was the main reason Vingo saved his Tour, so I don't see any case against him. He did fantastic pulling Vingo back with no help from other teams. Where was Ineos? Their entire fresh team with specialists and 3 GT "contenders" didn't do nearly as much as WVA did by himself. My issue is with team decision making. When Roglic dropped they should have sent either La Tour or WVA back to quickly get him to the Vingo group. He was immediately behind the team cars by himself. A quick effort there and he saves his Tour ambitions. Instead, he was left to his own and then with inferior support and look what happened. He had to do a ton of pulling himself after the crash. Vingo did literally 0, so huge win for Vingo securing team leadership. I don't want to see Roglic tap out.
That's all true except for the part that Jumbo may have acknowledged that Roglic's crash was too harsh for him to stand a chance even if we didn't loose time.

Hence the difference between a crash and a mechanical.

Powless had a chance of taking the leaders jersey so I can get them using up Cort to push the gap as much as possible. Was about 10 seconds from working.
It worked actually to the main extent, when I think EF were thinking Pogi was the main threat for yellow, when Wout came out of nowhere to close a significant gap for yellow quickly.

Bettiol charging on several occasions with two of his teammates in the front group was so obvious and really unsavoury. This kind of deal has always been in cycling fair enough, but doing it whilst screwing over your mates, he should be thrown out by his team.

Pogacar looked really good on the stones however, a bit of good luck in no mechanicals yes but always in good position every time.

Uran was in the group and they had an interest in putting time into the WVA group that had several GC riders distanced.

Vlasov looked really good today. He might not have experience on the cobbles, but he has raced the Strade Bianche stage in the last Giro and multiple Italian races with a decent amount of unpaved roads in the u23 ranks. Clearly no Menchov/Zakarin/Sivakov when it comes to bike handling skills.

The reason this is a huuuuuuge win for Pog is that it was literally the ONLY stage where Pog might be at a disadvantage (bad luck, mech issues that have plagued UAE all season, etc.).

However, the opposite happened.

And Rog has already shown to be on the downhill this season, so frankly no great loss there.

the killer is that other than Vingo, all other close competitors are going to be thrilled to battle it out for podium or top five. Even G.

What was Bettiol’s game today? Odd behaviour. Possibly cost Powless a yellow jersey

It's an odd situation but they were in a spot where they both had Powless up the road to potentially take yellow and Uran in a group that he had an interest in getting pushed because several GC rivals were behind.

Kids, wait a bit! I've got new bikes for you all!

He doesn't like the color of Pog's white jersey. He'd prefer to see him in yellow.

Bettiol certainly did everything he could to make that happen.

We need to hear how he explains this way of riding?

Maybe he's just not intelligent - like when he thought he had won a stage earlier this year.

probably he had a free role and wanted to win the stage. His plan was quite clearly to do the same thing as Stuyven did. He warned Pogacar before his attack to come with.

We all thought this would be fun when we thought pog night be caught on the hop with an issue or isolated. Not so nice when a hay bail and bad luck destroys everyone else.

Entertaining as. But brutally unfair

Guys, stop acting like this race is wrapped up. Yes, it's unlikely for somebody to catch Pogi, but one crash can make the difference. Racing just for the podium isn't happening.

Vingegaard admitted to loosing his cool when he had the mechanical. He lost his chain and switched bikes, twice instead of fixing his bike himself. Also, he said its his position in the peloton and not the cobbles that was the most difficult.
Finally, he said he did not help WvA because he would just be getting in his way :p

If Bettiol was not acting on effed-up team orders I actually believe that EF would be entirely justified to remove him from the race.

Rabo indeed failed, but Ineos rode like bitches and underwhelmed for all the hype. The 3 Ineos GC riders finished in the same group as noted cobble specialists Thibaut Pinot and Enric Mas.
