I mean, he had COVID and a crash. So not at all a good preperation. But I am also wondering if he will ever be among the best over multiple high mountain stages. So far he rather shines when its punchy.

It's weird because in 2020 he won the Ventoux challenge and finished second on Angliru. But yeah, since 2021 he struggled on longer climbs but this here is definitely down to Covid or his crash. He only lost one minute to Bernal on Zoncolan, a climb like this shouldn't see him drop already.
