there was an interview with Vasseur in French press this morning. Martin was feeling sick on Friday already, so they did a test, but turned out to be negative - so although he did alright result-wise, he wasn't completely fine.

Impressive stuff to do what he did yesterday while being sick then

It's Sunday. How great Wout Aert?
Send Wout up the road. Get Rog to tell Pog in Slovenian that team Jumbo is confused, they're just throwing darts at a board. Let UAE or others chase. Get Rog to launch a hail Mary on the Col de la Croix. Don't chase him Jumbo. Get Vinnie to sit anchor on Pog. It works or it doesn't and we can all be friends on the forum.

I quite like this stage design. Ordinarily one would think one for the stage hunters and an early opportunity for serious contenders at the polka dot. However the way this tour has been raced, who knows!
With what's coming in the Alps (except for Tuesday which is a ridiculous stage), I too think today's stage is quite good and well-dosed.

If they wanted a proper GC stage before the rest day, it's worth noting that the ski resort of the finish also covers Morzine and Avoriaz.

I still haven't seen a single Jumbo rider among the first 30 riders at any point.

He shouldn't have been selected after his crash in Suisse, but I take it that they hoped he would recover.

Isn't that pretty much what he's been saying? They hoped it would get better, but if he'd known it would actually get worse, he wouldn't have started.
