Hopefully they are sending WVA up there for a satellite rider in the valley, rather than trying to win the stage, as the composition of the break has too many accomplished climbers for him to go for the win. You just never know with TJV

Not going to happen but JV making a T-Mobile 2006 like mistake to let a good climber gain minutes would be the cherry on top. Imagine if they actually manage to beat Pog or he has to abandon and they finish 2nd in the GC because they didn´t chase a breakaway.

I wonder if the UAE team is actually sick, and the team is hiding it so far as a bluff or that the riders get negative covid tests that don't reveal the real infection. The only attack which would make sense if they want to use WvA as a satellite is Primoz Roglic but that's highly unlikely due to his condition. If Vingegaard attacks, Pogacar follows anyway & WvA wouldn't serve much purpose after that.
